Swedish bikemaker, Husqvarna took us by surprise when they showcased some of their models at the India Bike Week 2019. And jump to February 2020, Husqvarna has launched two new motorcycles, Vitpelin and Svartpilen 250, both at an introductory price of Rs 1.80 lakh.
These are the introductory prices and will increase in the coming months. Husqvarna is a sub-brand to the popular KTM and the bookings for the same have already started. At the start, the duo will be sold through 100 showrooms spread across 45 cities and later on after 5 months, they will expand to 400 showrooms across 275 towns.
The 250cc duo gets a fuel-injected, liquid cooled, single cylinder DOHC engine which produces 30 bhp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 24 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The engine gets mated to a 6-speed gearbox
Speaking on the occasion Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto Ltd. said ⬓The premium motorcycle segment has seen a strong growth in India over the last five years of almost 19% CAGR, with two broad classes of motorcycles - sporty high-performance motorcycles and lifestyle motorcycles with limited performance.
The Husqvarna twins are superbly crafted and will be a game changer in the lifestyle performance segment. They offer a great package of superior dynamic performance and a unique Swedish design language. The Husqvarnas are meant for progressive riders who have an evolved taste, a strong appreciation for style and don⬢t want a compromise between performance and elegant design.
