In a recent video, Tata Tiago was spotted with a soft camouflage to the lower part of its body. What remains to be in question is if it's the upcoming turbo variant of the Tata Tiago or is it the mild facelifted of NRG edition. A lot can be expected but the real deal is to know what's under the hood.
We place our bets and expect it is the upcoming turbo version of the Tata Tiago. To make it sportier, the Indian carmaker will provide it with roof rails, body cladding and diamond-cut alloy wheels. This will not be a first time if Tata plans to bring a turbo edition of the Tiago because till last year they partnered with JTP to do the same.
In collaboration with Jayem Tata Performance, the turbo petrol version of the Tiago made as much as 112 bhp with 150 Nm of peak torque. Both the suspension and ride handling were tweaked to cater to the needs of enthusiasts. Sadly, both the twins, Tiago and Tigor are now discontinued due to BS6 transition and poor sales.

If Tata plans to bring a turbo version of Tiago then they'll downsize the 1.2L Revotron engine. This unit is turbocharged which is used in their popular compact SUV, Nexon. In Nexon, this one makes 118 bhp with 170 Nm of peak torque. However, to deliver more fuel efficiency, the power will be lowered to maybe 110 bhp or even 100 bhp while the torque sticking to the same.

If Tiago turbo comes into picture then it can take on the likes of popular Hyundai Grand i10 Nios turbo and also the age-old Volkswagen Polo 1.0 TSI. The hatchback will surely attract a lot of enthusiasts due to the Indian brand name and the affordable pricing.

Another popular thing will be the safety as Tiago gets a Global 4-star NCAP rating. Feature-wise, Tata will provide a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all-black interiors with contrast stitching and more. As far as the prices go then it will be based on the top-spec XZ or XZ+ variant so we can expect it to be between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
