Komaki XR1 Electric Moped Launched At Rs 29,999!

The Komaki XR1 is a rather unique type of an electric two-wheeler that has been launched in the Indian market, with prices beginning from as low as Rs 29,999 (ex-showroom). Despite its utilitarian looks, the XR1 is actually a private vehicle.

Komaki XR1 Launched; Details

The Komaki XR1 is a compact electric moped with a split seat setup, and from the looks of it, the seating might remind you of scooters from a time long gone, given that the front seat is placed higher than the rear seat. The design is basic and it seems targeted towards a utilitarian audience.

There is a basket in the front, along with space between the seat and the handlebar to carry luggage, which it will most likely end up doing. However, the two-wheeler maker has not specifically given out a payload capacity figure. Interestingly, the Komaki XR1 comes with pedals which will be useful in case the electric moped runs out of charge.

Speaking of numbers, it gets a hub-mounte 250W electric motor, along with a 1.53kWh battery pack that gives it a claimed range of 70-80km on a single charge. The frame is suspended on telescopic forks and twin shocks, and it makes use of drum brakes on both ends. The XR1 also makes use of 10-inch wheels on both ends.
