Mahindra XUV 700 Lists New 'E' Variant With More Safety Features

Since the launch of the Mahindra XUV 700, it has gained massive traction from the urban masses. Mahindra is busy meeting the evergrowing demands of the customers for this show-stopping vehicle. The carmaker is known for its 5 Star-studded vehicles in terms of safety ratings and has introduced new variants with additional safety feature, keeping up with its reputation.

The new 'E' variant is offered alongside the MX. AX 3 and AX5 variants. It is a safety features upgradation over the mentioned variants.

Safety Upgrade On the XUV 700 New Variant 'E'

The newly introduced E variant brings the 'Electronic Stability Programme' or the ESP from its base MX 3 variant to the mid-level AX3 AND AX5 variants. This has been reportedly done to help Mahindra retain yet another 5 Star rating on the Global NCAP as per the latest guidelines. The latest updates by the Global NCAP suggest that all the cars have an Electronic Stability Programme as standard across all its variants.

The earlier variants missed out on this feature which could hamper the ratings as well as safety. The fresh variants have a bump of Rs. 50,000 over the previous ones. The new updated prices of the new models are listed below.

Mahindra in future could replace the older variants with the new E variants, which only seems logical. At present, the 'E' trim is being offered alongside the regular variants.

Mahindra XUV 700

The Mahindra XUV 700 comes with 2 engine options. The TGDi 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine produces a torque of 380 Nm and 200 Ps of power. The CRDi 2.0 litre Diesel engine comes with max. power of 185 PS which produces a torque of 420Nm and 450 Nm on the manual and automatic variants respectively. Both the engines are mated to a 6-Speed Manual as well as Automatic transmission.

VERDICT - With the introduction of additional safety features, Mahindra is looking to not leave any loopholes in the safety of its customers by complying with evolving safety protocols. The older variants could be discontinued in the near future.
