Upcoming MG Gloster Spied While Being Transported - Bigger Than Fortuner and Endeavour!

The MG Gloster was showcased at the AutoExpo 2020 and looked very impressive with its massive dimensions and imposing design. The Gloster is a full-size, ladder-on-frame SUV and gets three rows of seating. The brand is all set to launch the Gloster and the testing of the vehicle is going on in full swing. As it is clearly evident in the video, the Gloster is bigger than all of the SUVs in the segment such as the Endeavour, Fortuner, Alturas G4, and the Isuzu MU-X. Talking about the dimensions, the Gloster is 5,005 mm long, 1,932 mm wide, and measures 1,875 mm in height. With a wheelbase that measures 2,950 mm, the Gloster even overshadows the Toyota Land Cruiser in terms of length and wheelbase.

The model showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 featured 19-inch wheels which complimented the overall look of the car. In all, the MG Gloster is not just massive but looks bold and with the beefy design language, looks smarter than most of its rivals. The vehicle is based on the Maxus D90 but features some subtle design tweaks such as the addition of the elegant looking front grille and chrome highlights to make it more suitable and appealing for the Indian buyers.

The MG Gloster is expected to be powered by a 2.0-L turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 224 hp and 360 Nm of maximum torque. Globally, this engine comes mated to a 6-Speed MT and a 6-Speed AT. Additionally, the car gets a 2WD and a 4WD drivetrain option and selectable drive modes. The car also gets a second powertrain option which includes a 2.0-L twin-turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 218 hp and 480 Nm of peak torque. The same engine is also expected to be made available in the Hector by 2022.

The MG Gloster is expected to be priced around Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom) and will offer a spacious cabin for 7/8 people to sit in utmost comfort.
