Unlike the Hector, the MG Hector Plus comes with a glossy black grille at the front in addition to new headlamp design and redesigned bumpers. The Hector Plus also features thicker LED DRLs, triangular fog lamps, and black headlamp assembly. It is worth noting the fact that the chrome bits as seen on the Hector are absent in Hector Plus which makes it look distinctive. From the side, the Hector Plus looks very similar to the standard Hector but does look a little longer. At the rear, the MG Hector Plus now looks more mature and elegant. The car also features new tail lamp design and newly designed bumpers with a faux diffuser. The gets six colour options - Starry Sky Blue, Glaze Red, Burgundy Red, Starry Black, Candy White, and Aurora Silver.

In terms of dimension, the MG Hector Plus has grown in length by 40 mm while the width, height, and wheelbase remains unchanged. The MG Hector, with its blacked-out elements and other redesigned things such as new headlamps and bumpers, looks very appealing. In all, the MG Hector definitely looks a lot more mature appealing than the MG Hector. Unlike the Hector Plus, the Hector is available only in five colour options - Candy White, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Burgundy Red, and Glaze Red.

Interiors and Features

The MG Hector Plus will be available in the six-seat configuration. This version of the car will come with captain seats in the middle row with 50:50 split-folding third-row bench. Apart from this, the overall dashboard layout is similar to that of the Hector. The seats get tan coloured leather upholstery and tan leather finish on the dashboard as well. Moreover, the overall features offered with the car are similar to those offered in the Hector unlike some new additions such as MG Chit Chat.

With this being said, both these models come loaded with all the bells and whistles such as 8-colour ambient lighting, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, electric adjust for the front driver seat, etc. Other features of that both the cars come with include handsfree tail-gate operation, front parking sensors, colour mid-screen, cruise control, TPMS, etc.

Engine, Gearbox, And Performance

Just like the Hector, the MG Hector Plus will be powered by three engine options - Petrol, Petrol Hybrid, Diesel. The 1.5 petrol engine will come mated to a DCT gearbox and produces 143 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. Unlike the petrol engine, the petrol-hybrid will be mated only to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The power output from this engine remains similar to that of the petrol engine. The 2.0-L diesel engine, on the other hand, produces 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 6-speed MT only.

The same engine options power the Hector but there is a difference in the engine gearbox combination. While the petrol engine in the Hector Plus is only available with a DCT gearbox, the Hector also gets a 6-Speed manual in addition to the DCT box. With this being said, both the cars will score almost similar to each other in the performance department.
