Mahindra Scorpio N Edition One Spotted At a Dealer Yard: What's Special?
In short: A fresh grille, a wine-red cabin and exclusive "Edition One" badging could be the Scorpio N's festive-season special.
Mahindra's best-selling body-on-frame SUV may be about to get another special edition. An undisguised Scorpio N wearing "Edition One" badges has turned up at a dealer yard, and the footage reveals several visual changes. Mahindra hasn't said anything officially yet and we are still waiting for an official announcement. But for now, we know everything that this edition gets different from the regular one. So, if the “Big Daddy of SUVs” is the one on your list for this festive season, this piece might help you make an informed decision.
A Styling-Led Special
The most obvious change is at the front. The usual vertical slats of the Scorpio N grille are gone. In their place you get a layered horizontal design with bright rectangular inserts against a dark backdrop, with the Twin Peaks logo sitting in the middle. The design appears to borrow from Mahindra's recently shown Lifestyler pickup concept.
Everything else up front looks familiar: the headlamps, the muscular bonnet and the fog-lamp housings are unchanged. The SUV in the video is finished in black, with brightwork on the window line, roof rails, door handles and side steps. Edition One badging sits on the rear section of the body.
A Red Cabin Replaces the Brown
Inside, the Edition One swaps the regular brown-and-black cabin for a dark wine-red and black theme. The red appears on the dashboard, door pads and seat upholstery, while metallic trim around the vents, door pulls and centre console adds contrast. Also visible are a bench-type second row, rear AC vents and an automatic gear selector, so this unit is an automatic.
Built on a Top-Spec Trim
We expected the new “Edition One” to be based on the top-end version of the Scorpio N, because the features on display: a panoramic sunroof, a big floating touchscreen, push-button start and alloy wheels, point to a higher variant. Equipment such as Level 2 ADAS, a surround-view camera, ventilated front seats and a powered driver's seat is likely to be available, as it is on the top variants of the updated range.
That update arrived in August 2026. It added the Z8S trim, a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Higher trims gained an electronic parking brake with auto hold, ventilated front seats and a powered driver's seat. The Z8L got the panoramic sunroof, a 540-degree camera system and Level 2 ADAS. So the Edition One looks less like a new tech upgrade and more like a styling and cabin exercise on top of an already well-equipped SUV.
Price and Launch
Mahindra hasn't revealed pricing or launch timing. The updated Scorpio N currently costs Rs 13.69 lakh to Rs 25.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on how the company has priced earlier special editions, the Edition One could carry a premium of up to around Rs 1 lakh over the equivalent regular variant, and could be a limited run. A launch around the festive season looks likely.
Mahindra has done this before. The Scorpio N Carbon Edition, launched in February 2025 on the Z8 and Z8L trims to mark 2 lakh sales, also changed only the colour scheme and left the features and mechanicals alone. The Edition One appears to follow the same approach, with red inside instead of black.
