Mahindra Thar Roxx was one of the most anticipated launches of the year and Mahindra has done a good job with the 5-door Thar. The brand has advanced beyond the 3-door Thar, making the 5-door version more feature-loaded in terms of convenience and safety features. It is now more feature-loaded, more premium, more comfortable, more spacious, and fun to drive lifestyle SUV. However, the pricing of the top-spec RWD variant is on the upper side and the pricing of the 4X4 variant is yet to come. The Mahindra Thar Roxx now offers a good package of performance with convenience and practicality. Now, this can be the primary car of your family if you are not worried about fuel expenses.

What we admire in this car

More practical and comfortable as compared to the 3-Door Thar, offers good passenger & boot space

Desirable looks, with the new design elements and colour options it has become more desirable

Improved ride quality with mechanical updates and a new electric power steering

A good number of features are on offer such as a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless connectivity, an electric parking brake, a Harmon/Kardon system, and more

Top-notch safety with level 2 ADAS features, 360-degree camera, hill-descent, ESP, ABS with EBD, and 6 airbags as standard

Improved 4X4 setup for tackling every terrain

Offers good comfort with new seats and enhanced ergonomics

ADAS available from the mid-spec variant

Smooth 6-speed AT gearbox offers a decent driving experience

447 litres of boot space is good for family trips

What could have been better

The base variant lacks features

Offers significant body roll and SUVs like the Scorpio N and XUV 700 offer better ride quality

White interior in the top-variants is prone to get dirty easily

The petrol engine option is thirsty and does not offer good efficiency

4X4 drivetrain is available with a diesel engine only
