Tata Punch EV Facelift Unveiled

Going by the teaser, it is clear that the front design has been updated with a completely closed-off grille, reinforcing the Punch EV's electric identity. Notably, the facelift does away with the black trim that previously connected the headlamps, along with the LED light bar integrated into the DRLs. The lower section now features a mildly redesigned scuff plate. The teaser also reveals a new set of aero-styled alloy wheels, while the showcased car is finished in a fresh colour that appears to be borrowed from its larger sibling, the Harrier.
What To Expect Inside?

Tata is yet to reveal the rear design of the Punch EV facelift, though it is expected to feature a connected LED tail-lamp setup similar to the ICE-powered Punch. Interior changes are likely to be subtle, focusing more on tech updates rather than a full redesign. The Punch EV could receive a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with updated software, potentially borrowed from the Nexon EV.
In terms of features, the facelift is expected to continue offering a strong equipment list, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, connected car technology, and ambient lighting. Additionally, a Level 2 ADAS suite is also expected to be introduced as part of the updated model's safety package.
Powertrain
Mechanically, the Punch EV remains the same. It is expected to be powered by a 25kWh and a 35kWh battery pack, which are claimed to deliver ranges of 265km and 365km, respectively. When paired up with a motor, the smaller battery pack gives out 82hp and 114 nm of torque. On the other hand, the bigger one belts out 112hp and 190 nm of torque.
The current model is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the facelift is expected to be priced a bit higher than this.

Verdict
The Tata Punch EV facelift may not reinvent the wheel, but it does exactly what it needs to: stay fresh, relevant, and competitive. With cleaner exterior styling, the promise of upgraded tech inside, and the same proven electric powertrains, Tata is clearly doubling down on its strategy of incremental but meaningful updates. If pricing remains sensible, the Punch EV facelift should continue to be a strong contender in the affordable EV space.
