Dressed in vibrant hues - Streaky Red, Oceanic Blue, and Midnight Black - the 'Urban' version maintains mechanical parity with the Kratos R. Equipped with a 4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, it commands real-world ranges of up to 120 km (Eco mode), 100 km (City mode), and 70 km (Sport mode).

The axial flux permanent magnet motor echoes the Kratos R's specifications - 6 bhp continuous output, peaking at 12 bhp and 38 Nm of torque. This translates to a swift 0-40 kph acceleration in 3.5 seconds, capping at a maximum speed of 105 kmph. Yet, post one month of use, the bike transitions to a single-ride mode (City) with reduced speed (70 kmph) and range (100 km).

Supplementary features such as reverse mode, fast charging capability, in-app navigation, live dashboard connectivity via Bluetooth, vehicle tracking, anti-theft mechanism, geofencing, charging station locator, over-the-air updates, and ride analytics will be deactivated after the initial month. Enthusiasts can opt to reactivate these features by paying an additional Rs 20,000 within the initial six months of ownership. This essentially elevates the motorcycle into the full-fledged Kratos R version, priced at Rs 1.87 lakh (ex-showroom) post the FAME-II subsidy. In the market, it will compete against rivals like the Revolt RV400.

Verdict

Tork Motors unveils the 'Urban' variant of Kratos R e-motorcycle at Rs 1.67 lakh. A one-month premium feature trial enhances user experience, aiding decisions on unlocking extras for a nominal fee. This strategy combines affordability with firsthand experience, appealing to electric motorcycle enthusiasts.
