Nissan India has not been very active since some years but the company is now trying to win the hearts of Indians with new and advanced SUVs. Their first inning was the Kicks that was actually a great car but lacked some features and Nissan failed to lure the customers with the Kicks. Now Nissan is gearing up for their new SUV called 'Magnite'. 2020 Nissan Magnite will be a Brezza rivalling SUV and it will sit on the Renault-Nissan CMF-A+ platform which also underpins the Triber. Recently, Nissan has announced the new and updated BS6 Kicks.

Nissan will launch the Magnite SUV later this year and as Renault and Nissan had already announced that they won't sell their cars with diesel engines post BS6, Kicks and Magnite will be petrol-only offerings. The engine under the hood of the Magnite will be a 1.0-litre 3-cyl turbo petrol engine that will churn out close to 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque paired with 6-speed manual gearbox.
Nissan will also offer an automatic transmission with the Magnite and it could be an AMT box. The same 1.0-litre turbo engine will be used in Renault's upcoming compact SUV codenamed 'HBC' and Renault Triber. The exterior of the Magnite SUV will be inspired from the Kicks featuring LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, body cladding and unique LED taillights.

The 2020 Nissan Magnite will be a feature-packed car and it will also offer a sunroof in top trims. Other features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, connected car technology, central armrest and other features. Nissan will also offer nannies like ABS, EBD, seatbelt reminders, speed sensing door lock and alarm, dual airbags etc. It won't come as a surprise if Nissan gives 4 airbags in top trims of the Magnite as well.
Talking about the pricing, we expect the 2020 Nissan Magnite to start from around Rs 6.99 lakhs and the top trims to mark their place at Rs 8.99 lakhs ex-showroom. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Reanult HBC, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and other compact SUVs.
