2020 Kia Picanto Facelift Leaked; Will it Come to India?

Kia showcased the Picanto hatchback back at the 2018 Auto Expo. However, Kia never confirmed whether they will launch the Picanto in India or not. Recently, the 2020 Kia Picanto facelift images have surfaced online and it gets a lot of cosmetic updates. The new cosmetic updates work as a mid-cycle facelift, however, we aren't sure if Kia considers this for the Indian market.

Talking about the new spied images of the 2020 Kia Picanto facelift, the front grille has been shrunken down with new silver inserts (GT line will get red inserts) but it retains the 'Tiger nose' form factor. The bumper has been updated with chrome surrounded projector fog lamps. The model spied in Korea was assumably a GT-line trim featuring sporty red bits all around. The side profile gets red-coloured skirtings and machine-cut alloy wheels. The rear also gets faux chrome-surrounded exhaust ports and LED taillights.

As we told earlier that this car is based on the Hyundai Grand i10' platform but it measures smaller than the Indian-spec Grand i10 Nios. Coming to the interiors of the Kia Picanto facelift which haven't revealed yet, we expected some minor nip and tuck here and there. The Kia Picanto is already a feature-loaded car inside with features 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, wireless charging, steering mounted controls etc.

The 2020 Kia Picanto is available in various trims and lines - Zest, X-line, GT-line, Titanium etc. Talking about the engines, it is available with four engine options - 1.0-litre MPI, 1.25- litre and 1.0-litre GDI petrol engine. Kia also offers 4-speed automatic along with 5-speed manual transmission. Kia may unveil the facelifted Picanto later this year for the Korean markets.

At this time, there is no saying from Kia Motors India for the launch of the Picanto as they are highly focussing on SUVs only. Their new Sonet compact SUV, which might be called with a different name due to some issues with name registration, will be launched later this year in the Indian market.
