Why Electric Scooter ?
Ola Electric Gig Detailed Review
-
The Ola Gig comes with uniquely-styled body panels for an electric moped. The Gig+ takes it further with a modern front apron and an LED headlamp setup that looks similar to a projector.
-
The Ola Gig+ gets a red-painted body panel, which is similar to the painted-frame approach Kinetic has taken with the E-Luna.
-
The Gig and the Gig+ also receive metal body panel protectors at the front, which is similar to what we have also seen on the River Indie.
-
The rest of the body panels appear to be identical between the two scooters, which is not necessarily a bad thing, since both scooters look quite unique.
Gig body specifications:
Wheel Size | undefined inch & 12 inches inch |
-
The Ola Gig focuses more on efficiency with its motor producing 0.3bhp, while the Gig+ offers better performance with 2.0bhp on offer.
-
Both scooters also come with a 1.5kWh removable battery pack, but the Gig+ gets the option of adding an extra battery pack, while the Gig makes do with just one.
-
The Ola Gig reaches a claimed top speed of 25kmph, and its single 1.5kWh battery pack gives it a claimed range of 112km on a single charge.
-
The Ola Gig+ reaches a claimed top speed of 45kmph. The single 1.5kWh battery pack gives it a claimed range of 81km, while adding the extra battery pack increases the range figure to a claimed 157km on a single charge.
Gig battery specifications:
Top Speed | 45 kmph |
-
Both scooters make use of drum brakes, while the frame is suspended on conventional telescopic forks and twin shocks.
-
Both scooters also make use of 12-inch wheels on both ends, and with a large load-carrying tray, it is expected to have a good amount of payload capacity.
-
The scooters will make use of an app-based scanning system to lock, unlock and access them. Ola is yet to confirm any other features to be offered.
