The Simple Dot One stands as a high-end electric scooter, sharing its platform with the Simple One electric scooter. It presents more competitive pricing compared to the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter while delivering commendable performance and features that align with those of the Ola S1 Pro. With a sporty appearance and dynamic performance, this scooter adds a touch of sportiness to the electric scooter landscape.

Pros & Cons of Simple Dot One

What we admire in this scooter

Sharp and distinctive design language

Boasts a claimed range of 160 km making it the scooter with the longest range in the E2W market

Expansive 35-litre under-seat storage makes it more practical

It comes with specially designed tyres which will help in maximizing the on-road range

Can do 0 to 40 kmph in an impressive 2.77 seconds

Powerful 8.5 kW electric motor with a peak torque output of 72 Nm

What could have been better

The expensive price tag of Rs 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom)

The build quality is expected to be similar to the Simple One scooter, which is not as good as other scooters in the segment

Simple Energy has missed the timeline of deliveries multiple times

The availability of showrooms and service networks is limited

Less availability of public two-wheeler charging infrastructure

Should I buy the Simple Dot One?

If you're in search of a high-performance electric scooter, the Simple Dot One is a compelling choice. It provides an impressive range, strong performance, and a respectable array of features. However, it's worth noting that deliveries for the scooter are projected to commence early next year. Given Simple Energy's track record of missing delivery dates, certainty remains uncertain. For a quicker option, the Ola S1 Pro or the Ather 450X electric scooters are available alternatives.

Consider Carefully

This is a good scooty with a decent range. However, I am concerned about the service costs, especially for the belt, which might be higher. It might be better to choose a chain-driven model, as it could provide better mileage and lower maintenance costs.
