TVS Star City+ Detailed Review
The TVS Star City Plus is touted as a affordable, easy-to-ride, lightweight, and tiny bike. The bike offers an appealing design language as well as a number of features that are unusual for this market segment. Read our in-depth first-look review of the Star City Plus if you're looking to buy a bike in this market. The bike has a chiselled appearance because to the fuel tank's curved contour line and the chic graphics, while the vehicle looks more premium thanks to the metallic ring encircling the LED headlight. The addition of dual-tone rear view mirrors and five-spoke blacked-out alloy wheels on the Star City Plus compliment the motorcycle's dual-tone colour scheme. The Star City Plus has quality 3D logo highlights on the side panels and the fuel tank in addition to the features stated above, which give it personality. Additionally, clients have a choice between two dual-tone colour schemes for the BS6 Star City Plus, one of which is the Black and Red paint scheme and the other is the Blue and Silver paint scheme. The bike's rear end features a sleek yet understated tail lamp and a black mudguard with a built-in rectangular reflector. Along with a body-colored grip rail for enhanced convenience, the motorcycle also receives a silver muffler cover with the ecothrust emblem.
Summary
The new TVS Star City Plus is a good looking commuter motorcycle that has a retro appeal. The motorcycle feels up-market and has elements in addition to some premium goodies that gives it a good road presence.

The motorcycle's 1,260 mm wheelbase and 785 mm seat height allow it to accommodate both tall and short riders. Ground clearance on the TVS Star City Plus is a reasonable 172 mm. The disc brake version of the Star City Plus weighs 115 kg, while the disc brake variant weighs 116 kg.

The TVS Star City Plus BS6 comes with a 109.7 cc engine. This engine can produce a maximum torque of 8.7 Nm and a maximum power output of bhp. This transmission is linked with a 4-speed manual clutch that is exceptionally light and smooth. Fuel injection enhances the responsiveness of the engine of this motorcycle, which has a top speed of 90 kmph. The smoothness of this engine plus the fact that its peak power is delivered at lower RPMs make it better for city riding.
The new TVS BS6 Star City Plus performs well in the low- to mid-range. The 109cc engine has respectable power output and is extremely responsive. It provides adequate performance for city commuting as well. The TVS Star City Plus can easily reach 90 kmph, while most entry-level commuter cars have a top speed of 80 to 85 kmph. However, at speeds between 40 and 60 kmph, the bike feels smooth and easy to ride without a lot of vibrations entering through the footpegs and handlebar. Regarding fuel economy, the motorcycle offers a respectable fuel efficiency number of 60-70kmpl under actual riding circumstances.
The motorcycle also performs well on rough patches thanks to its robust suspension setup. There is minimal vibration on the footpeg, fuel tank and the handle. Overall, the BS6-compliant TVS Star City Plus provides superior comfort and ride quality.
Summary
The new TVS Star City Plus offers good performance. This commuter motorcycle packs in great low-end and mid-range punch. The BS6 version of the Star City Plus also offers good fuel economy too.
Star City+ engine specifications:
| Transmission | Manual |
| Mileage | 86 |
| Engine | 109.7 cc |
The new TVS Star City Plus is built on a single cradle tubular frame. The motorcycle's suspension is controlled by telescopic forks in the front and a 5-step hydraulic shock absorber in the rear. It performs well over challenging terrain and offers better comfort and ride quality. The rear 110 mm drum brake is in charge of stopping this commuter motorcycle. A 240 mm disc brake or a 130 mm drum brake are available up front.
The 240 mm front disc brake model is vastly superior to the 130 mm drum brake and is recognised for its outstanding bite, but the 130 mm front and rear drum brake does not fall short either. Another safety feature on the motorcycle is SBT, or Synchronized Braking Technology. The SBT technology essentially applies the front brake automatically while you engage the rear drum brake in order to halt or slow down the scooter. This ensures efficient braking and permits a swift halt for the bike.
Tubeless tyres are also used on the front and rear of the Star City Plus. The size of the front tyre is 2.75 X 17 41P 4PR, while the size of the rear tyre is 3.0 X 17 50P 6PR. These tyres should ensure adequate grip on rough parts of the road and offer strong resistance to aquaplaning.
Summary
The TVS Star City Plus offers a good ride quality and strong brakes, thereby making it among the stronger performers of the segment. This motorcycle is largely preferred by rural customers due to its sheer performance in tough conditions.
