Last Updated On 16th Apr'25: The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid, priced at Rs 1,44,800 (ex-showroom), brings significant updates while retaining its core mechanicals. Powered by a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a Starter Motor Generator (SMG), it produces 12.4PS at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm. Paired with a five-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, the hybrid tech enhances roll-on acceleration and fuel efficiency, making it ideal for city commutes. The bike is OBD2B-compliant and E20 fuel-compatible, aligning with emission norms.

The Yamaha FZ-S FI Hybrid has finally been launched after its showcase of the 2025 Auto Expo. It comes with a set of ergonomic and slight design tweaks, while also adding on a set of practical connectivity features. The powertrain, while now receiving mild-hybrid tech, continues to be the same 149cc unit with identical output figures.

What we admire in this bike

The FZ-S FI Hybrid’s kerb weight of 136kg makes it rather nimble and easy for various riders to use, which is contrary to its muscular image with the beefy fuel tank.

The riding position is fairly straightforward and comfortable.

The new TFT screen and added features make it more practical than before.

The tank-integrated turn-indicators give it a cleaner look, and the LED lighting lends it a further premium, sophisticated appearance.

What could have been better

The suspension is fairly stiff and makes you aware of bumps while riding over even mildly-unpaved roads.

The engine feels buzzy and unrefined even at speeds around 60kmph, and it runs out of breath fairly quickly, which makes overtaking a difficult task.
