Yamaha FZ - Hybrid

In April 2025, Yamaha launched the FZ-S Fi Hybrid with minor updates, making its Blue Core engine OBD-2B compliant, at a pre-tax price of Rs 1.45 lakh. Now, the design patent filed is exactly the same as this bike - but we believe it could be a more affordable version with fewer features. Moreover, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid is India's first hybrid motorcycle, equipped with a smart motor generator that works in tandem with the 149cc Blue Core engine to produce 12.4 PS and 13.3 Nm of torque. On top of that it will also come with Stop & Start System (SSS), and provide a quieter start, battery-assisted acceleration, and improved fuel efficiency by automatically shutting off the engine at idle and restarting with a quick clutch action.

The patented design tells us that turn indicators are positioned within the air intake area. Also, the fuel tank features an airplane-style fuel cap that remains attached during refuelling. There is a single seat setup, and the front wheel has a disc brake with single-channel ABS. Now, the upcoming one might not get a TFT display and connected features like Turn-by-Turn navigation linked to Google Maps, offering real-time directions, navigation index, intersection details, and road names. Also, with very basic extra styling featuring no body graphics. All of this would add up to drop its price by somewhere around Rs 10,000 and most likely it will loosen up the "S" letter from its name - leaving it just as FZ Hybrid.
