The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 was recently spied testing with a new TFT display, USD forks, revised switchgear on the left handlebar, and adjustable levers. After updating the Pulsar N160 and NS range, along with launching the new-generation Pulsar 125 and 150, it now looks like the RS200 is next in line for a feature upgrade. Launched in 2015, it is the only fully-faired motorcycle in the Pulsar lineup and is known for offering a performance-oriented riding experience at an affordable price.
Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Facelift: USD Forks Replace Telescopic Setup
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 facelift was spied testing, and the biggest change was seen on the front suspension, where USD forks were handling the duties, replacing the conventional telescopic setup. There are no changes to the rear suspension, which continues with a monoshock layout.
New TFT Display With Connected Features
Another major change is the new TFT display, similar to the one recently seen on the Pulsar 125 and 150. The screen has a crisp display and comes with features like Google navigation, music controls, document storage, along with call and message alerts. Important digital documents can also be stored on the screen, including the driving licence, RC, insurance and pollution certificate. Moreover, the display might also feature ride modes, traction control and electronic ride control.
Plus, the overall interface of this screen is easy to understand. Other changes spotted on the bike include the left handlebar, which houses a directional control pad, while the right handlebar gets a dedicated hazard light switch.
Revised Switchgear and Adjustable Levers
Apart from these, both the clutch and brake levers are adjustable, which means riders can find their perfect position and ride comfortably. Lastly, there is a plastic box-like section that will feature USB ports.
Apart from these updates, there is no major difference in terms of design or other mechanical components. As seen in the photos, the bike continues with disc brakes on both wheels, dual-channel ABS, twin-projector headlights with DRLs, split seats, a pillion grab handle, and inverted C-shaped taillights.
Engine Specifications
Talking about the engine, it will continue with the same liquid-cooled 200cc unit that produces 24.5 PS at 9,750 rpm and 18.7 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
End Note
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is currently available at Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered in three colour options - Racing Red, Brooklyn Black, and Pearl Metallic White & Caribbean Blue. The facelifted version of the Pulsar RS200 is expected to launch in late October or early November. We believe that with the addition of these new features, the price could go up by around Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000, taking the new price to around Rs 1.88 lakh (ex-showroom).
These updates should enhance the overall riding experience and make the Pulsar RS200 a more competent option in the segment.
