India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has today launched India's first hybrid motorcycle, the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid, at Rs 1,44,800. Its 149cc Blue Core engine is OBD-2B compliant and is equipped with several other technologies. Apart from this, the FZ-S Fi has been given multiple styling updates, and its handlebar position has changed in order to provide more comfort. Let's learn more details about this bike below. 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid
Like the name suggests, the FZ-S Fi is equipped with a smart motor generator that together works with 149cc Blue Core engine and produce 12.4 ps and 13.3 Nm of torque. This bike is also features Stop & Start System (SSS), and it provides aquieter starts, battery-assisted acceleration, and improved fuel efficiency by automatically shutting off the engine at idle and restarting with a quick clutch action.
The official press release states that the handlebar position has been optimised for greater comfort on long rides, and the positioning of the switches has been adjusted for better accessibility, even when wearing gloves. Additionally, the horn switch has been repositioned. The fuel tank now features an airplane-style fuel cap that remains attached during refuelling, and Yamaha has worked on its design elements. A key design update includes integrated front turn signals, now positioned within the air intake area, which adds to its aerodynamic appeal and aggressive design language.
Other updates include - a 4.2 Inch TFT display that connects with smartphone through Y-Connect app, and then rider can make use of connectivity features like Turn-by-Turn (TBT) navigation linked to Google Maps, offering real-time directions, navigation index, intersection details, and road names. Lastly, the India's first hybrid motorcyle is available with two colour options - Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.

The FZ brand has played a crucial role in Yamaha's journey in India, evolving with every generation to meet changing expectations and practical requirements. Now, this bike has become more refined than ever and also features improved aesthetics. It was also showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, and now it has been launched at an attractive price point. Mileage is expected to improve, and the battery will assist in providing extra boosts, so it's fair to assume that it will offer a better riding experience.
