Leapmotor T03 Latest Update
Last Updated on 6th May'24 Electric Motor : The Leapmotor T03 electric hatchback has a 70kW electric motor with 3 drive modes. In most markets, the top speed is limited to 100 km/h. This is more than ample for urban conditions and something we have seen with the MG Comet EV as well. Leapmotor claims the motor has a system efficiency of 92.6%.
Driving Range : We are surprised with the battery pack that the T03 comes with. The more affordable versions come with a 41 kWh LFP battery pack. This makes the battery far bigger than that of the Tata Tiago EV for example. The more expensive versions of the Leapmotor T03 come with a 38 kWh NCM battery pack. As per NEDC cycle, the T03 can run for over 400km on a single charge. However, in real world conditions, reviewers have quoted anywhere from 270 to 300km - this is more than what the Tata Tiago EV LR (long range) offers and could be a USP for this upcoming electric hatchback.
Dimensions : This is a compact urban car and the dimensions are similar as well. At 3620mm, the T03 is shorter than the Tiago by a small margin. Likewise, width stands at 1652mm (25mm narrower than the Tiago) but the T03 is taller by 41mm at 1577mm.
The rear bench is good for 2 adults and boot space stands at 210 litres - in between the MG Comet and the Tata Tiago EV.

Interiors : This is a proper four-door, four-seater compact electric hatchback. Compared to the conventional design on the outside, the interiors of the Leapmotor T03 look modern and airy. The talking point here is the large sunroof on offer - unique for an affordable car. The cabin is largely clutter free and there are ample practical touches including the right side stack doing duties as a gear level - similar to modern day Mercedes offerings.
The rear bench is good for 2 adults and boot space stands at 210 litres - in between the MG Comet and the Tata Tiago EV.
Price : Stellantis Group, which sells Citroen and Tesla in India, has invested into Leapmotor with an aim to introduce affordable EVs into various world markets. India, too, seems to be on the radar, and if the T03 comes into the domestic market, we can expect pricing to start around Rs 8,00,000. The Leapmotor T03 is the most affordable electric car globally.
Rivals : If launched in India, the 2024 Leapmotor T03 will compete with the Tata Tiago EV and the 2-door MG Comet EV. Pricing will play a key role in the success of this compact electric hatchback. Read MoreRead Less
