Mini Cooper Convertible
The Mini Cooper Convertible is a four-seater convertible hatchback powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, designed for long drives on pleasant weather days when a drop-top experience feels special. It is more about style, character, and aura, as this is not the kind of car most buyers would use as their primary vehicle. That said, it still offers a decent amount of space, making weekend trips with luggage quite practical.

Should I buy the Cooper Convertible?
If you want a stylish convertible that delivers a fun-to-drive experience with strong road presence, the Mini Convertible makes a strong case for itself. It is not built around practicality or value-for-money, but rather for buyers who want exclusivity and open-top motoring with sporty performance. However, starting at Rs 58.50 lakh, it remains a niche lifestyle purchase that will mainly appeal to enthusiasts and weekend-drive buyers.
- This convertible version of the MINI Cooper Convertible isn’t drastically different from the car it is based on; in fact, it looks almost exactly the same. However, in terms of dimensions, it is marginally larger than the standard MINI Cooper, with just a 3 mm increase in overall length and a 3 mm longer rear overhang. The Convertible also sits slightly lower at 1,431 mm compared to 1,452 mm, giving it a sportier stance.
- The only change you will find between the two is the Convertible has the old-version of rear tail-lamps while the Cooper features the inverted triangle shaped tail-lights.
- Customers can choose between 16-18 inch alloy wheel options - and all of them look cool and elevate the stance of this sporty hatchback.
- It transforms from a closed-roof hatchback to a convertible in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 km/h. Plus, the soft-top roof can also function as a sunroof with a partial opening.
- Two colours options with JCW Pack - Legend Grey, and Midnight Black.

- The Mini Convertible JCW Pack is powered by a 2.0-liter Twin-ower turbo petrol engine that delivers 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The motor is tuned to offer strong mid-range punch and quick throttle response.
- Power is sent to the wheels through a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Steptronic Sport automatic gearbox, which offers quicker gear shifts and smoother acceleration during spirited driving.
- Performance remains one of the highlights as the convertible can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 240 km/h.
- Mini has also equipped the car with Boost Mode, which sharpens acceleration response and enhances the sport ‘go-kart’ driving character the brand is known for.
- The cabin of the MINI Convertible JCW Pack gets a sporty yet premium layout with JCW Sports Seats finished in Vescin/Cord Black upholstery. Adding to the performance-oriented feel is the new JCW steering wheel with paddle shifters for quicker manual gear changes.
- At the centre of the dashboard sits a large round OLED touchscreen that functions as both the infotainment system and digital instrument display. It runs Mini Operating System 9 and supports the “Hey Mini” voice assistant for controlling various vehicle functions.
- On the connectivity front, the convertible supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MINI Digital Key Plus, allowing smartphone-based vehicle access. Other premium features include a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, Head-Up Display and wireless phone charging.
- MINI Experience Modes such as Go-Kart, Green and Vivid alter the car’s lighting, sound and driving feel for a more immersive experience. The car also gets Comfort Access, which automatically locks or unlocks the vehicle depending on key proximity.
- Equipped with a rollover protection system along with multiple airbags, including front and side curtain airbags, for enhanced occupant safety.
- Features Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), ABS with Brake Assist, and Cornering Brake Control to improve handling and braking confidence.
- Comes with a rear-view camera and Parking Assistant, making tight city parking and reversing easier for the driver.
- Also gets Cruise Control, which adds extra comfort and convenience during long highway journeys.
