Last Updated on 5th Aug'25: This SUV, with its GT Line, receives a new Flash Red paint option, which is limited to the 1.0L TSI engine. According to Volkswagen, this is available in limited units only.

The Volkswagen Taigun has introduced a new mid-tier variant, the Highline Plus, with pricing set at Rs. 14.37 lakh for the automatic version and Rs. 15.37 lakh for the manual variant (ex-showroom). This new trim level includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror (IRVM), a sunroof, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start, and ‘follow me home’ headlights, and more.

It also provides a comfortable cabin. What we admire in this car

Great driving experience with German-styled dynamics and handling.

Has top-class safety standards with 6 airbags and 5-star GLOBAL NCAP ratings.

Comes with strong build quality and brilliant driving dynamics

It has almost every feature in the segment. These include ventilated seats, wireless charging, and connectivity.

Both engines are powerful and have decent fuel economy.

The 1.5L TSI EVO motor gets cylinder de-activation technology for enhanced fuel efficiency.

The boot space is decent in numbers but has great space and practicality.

What could have been better

The cabin space could have been improved and seating 3 passengers in the rear can be a tight fit.

The plastic quality could have been improved on some panels.

The suspension setup is on the stiffer side which filters in potholes and bumps at slow speeds.

There is no diesel or hybrid option on offer.

It misses on Highline TPMS.

Fully Satisfied

The car is excellent in driving comfort, performance, road grip, and average mileage. The after-sales service is good, and my workshop experience has also been positive. Impressive Mileage Performance

Volkswagen Taigun: Reliable Performance

We purchased the Volkswagen Taigun 1.0L Turbo High-End variant in January 2023. It’s been over 2 years now, and I’ve traveled almost 50,000 km. The performance has been excellent even in ghat sections and tough terrains, the vehicle handles beautifully. In terms of maintenance, it’s quite reasonable not very expensive, especially when compared to BMWs or other high-end cars. I’m very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it. Everything is manufactured by Volkswagen in their own factory, and the vehicle feels very sturdy and well-built.
