Rear Design Revealed With Connected Lighting

The rear section of the facelifted Taigun was largely undisguised during testing, allowing a good view of the updated design. The SUV continues to feature a connected LED taillight setup, although the light signature appears to have been revised.
The central light strip was partially camouflaged on the test vehicle, suggesting that the production model could include an illuminated Volkswagen badge in the middle. The rear bumper design has also been reworked, now featuring a shorter chrome insert and a larger silver skid plate, giving the SUV a slightly more rugged appearance.
Other elements such as the compact roof spoiler with an integrated high-mounted stop lamp appear to remain similar to the current model.
Profile Remains Largely Unchanged

From the side, the Taigun facelift looks mostly identical to the existing version. The overall silhouette, window line, and shoulder line appear unchanged, which is typical for a mid-cycle update.
However, the refreshed model is expected to feature newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels, adding a subtle visual update to the side profile.
Completely Redesigned Front End

While the rear changes are evolutionary, the front fascia appears to have undergone a more noticeable transformation.
The facelifted Taigun is expected to feature sleeker LED headlamps connected by a light bar, creating a more contemporary appearance. This lighting setup resembles the design language seen on Volkswagen's newer global models and gives the SUV a sharper look compared to the current version.
The front bumper has also been redesigned and is expected to feature sportier styling cues, while the Volkswagen emblem on the grille could be illuminated, further enhancing the SUV's premium appeal.
Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Interior Upgrades Likely
Inside the cabin, the Taigun facelift is expected to receive a number of feature additions aimed at improving comfort and technology. Reports suggest the SUV could come with:
- A larger touchscreen infotainment system
- A 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster
- New upholstery and interior colour themes
- Rear seats with massage functionality, similar to the feature offered on the `koda Kushaq
- Additional comfort and convenience features
Another expected addition could be a panoramic sunroof, which has become increasingly popular in the compact SUV segment.
Mechanical Updates

Under the hood, the Taigun facelift is expected to retain its current turbocharged petrol engine options.
The lineup will likely continue with:
- 1.0-litre TSI engine producing around 114 bhp and 178 Nm
- 1.5-litre TSI engine producing around 148 bhp and 250 Nm
However, one of the key mechanical updates could be the introduction of an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox sourced from Aisin for the 1.0-litre engine, replacing the existing automatic option. The engine is also expected to continue with a 6-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre TSI variant may be offered exclusively with Volkswagen's 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The facelifted SUV could also receive disc brakes on all four wheels, further improving braking performance.
