Volkswagen Announces GST 2.0 Benefits, Price Drop of Up To Rs 3.26 Lakh - Details

The GST 2.0 has stirred the Indian automotive market, with brands announcing significant price cuts on their vehicles. Many OEMs have already announced reductions due to the new GST rates, and now Volkswagen India has also revealed price cuts for its cars. Volkswagen India GST 2.0 Price Cut

Customers planning to buy Volkswagen cars after the implementation of GST 2.0 can avail the benefits of up to Rs 3.26 lakh, depending on the model. The brand has announced benefits of Rs 66,900 on the Virtus, Rs 68,400 on the Taigun, and up to Rs 3.26 lakh on the Tiguan R-Line. These benefits will be available from September 22, 2025, after the full rollout of GST 2.0.

Under the new GST 2.0 rules, cars with engines of up to 1,200 cc and a length of less than 4 meters will be subject to a flat 18% GST. In contrast, cars exceeding 4 meters in length and equipped with engines above 1,200 cc for petrol or 1,500 cc for diesel will now incur a flat 40% GST.

Along with the new GST benefits, the customers can also avail attractive discounts ranging from a maximum of Rs 1.61 lakhs up to Rs 3 lakhs on select models of Taigun, Virtus, and Tiguan R-Line, respectively.
