THE BMW X7

While vehicles above 4,000 mm in length with engines larger than 1,200cc (petrol) or 1,500cc (diesel) now fall under the 40% GST slab, this is still lower than the earlier 50% levy (28% GST + 22% cess). The outcome is lower ex-showroom prices across BMW's range, with flagship SUVs seeing the steepest cuts. BMW's SUV portfolio has gained significant reductions, particularly in larger models that carried the heaviest tax burden earlier.

Competitive Edge In The Luxury Market

High taxation has traditionally made luxury vehicles in India significantly more expensive than in global markets. The new GST structure narrows this gap, and BMW's price reductions are expected to drive demand during the upcoming festive season. With rivals like Mercedes-Benz and Audi also adjusting prices, the revised BMW lineup is well-positioned to attract buyers looking for premium cars at lower price points, this festive season.

Verdict

BMW India's price cuts under GST 2.0 mark a turning point for luxury car affordability in the country. With savings of up to Rs. 9 lakh on SUVs and Rs. 4.1 lakh on sedans, the brand has strengthened its appeal across categories. As the festive season approaches, BMW's refreshed pricing strategy is set to energize demand, giving customers more reason than ever to upgrade to a luxury sedan or SUV, if thats something they were looking for.
