1. 9-inch Infotainment Touch Screen

The Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with a new centre console that shares a lot of elements with the Baleno, Grand Vitara, and the Dzire. The screen supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but there is a USB-A type port in case you opt for a wired connection. In its stock settings, the screen shows you basic things such as a clock, current date, miscellaneous settings, paired devices list, FM/bluetooth connectivity options, and so on.
In terms of operation, the screen works well enough. It switches between different functions smoothly, it offers good clarity as well, and there is also a voice assistant function which can be accessed via a touch control on the lower part of the screen.
Variants Available: The 9-inch infotainment screen is available from the ZXi+ variant onwards, which begins from Rs 8.99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
Competition Check: The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers an 8-inch touch screen system with wired connectivity in its higher variants. Meanwhile the Tata Tiago offers a larger 10.25-inch touch screen unit in its higher variants.
2. Reverse parking camera

In its fourth-generation guise, the Swift offers a reverse parking camera with guidelines. Granted, the reverse parking camera is not the clearest and could be of better quality, but this is still a nice feature to have regardless, even though the Swift has compact dimensions, which make it very easy to drive anyway. The screen offers a wide angle view of what's behind us when the camera is engaged.
Variants Available: The reverse parking camera is available from the ZXi+ variant onwards, which is available from Rs 8.99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
Competition Check: The Tiago and the Grand i10 Nios also offer a reverse parking camera, and the Tiago takes it a step further by also offering a top-down view of the car with a split-screen function.
3. Added Safety Features

The new Swift comes with an added focus on safety. Maruti Suzuki recently added six airbags on the new Swift, and it is also comes with features such as hill-hold assist, ESP, ABS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and front seat belts with pre-tensioners among other things.
It is to be noted that the Swift shares its platform with the Dzire, which has been tested at the GNCAP, where it shocked the world by becoming the first Maruti car to score five stars. While the Swift is yet to be tested, we can expect it to perform similarly in terms of safety.
Variants Available: The Swift comes with these safety features as standard across all variants.
Competition Check: The Grand i10 Nios and the Tiago also offer a similar set of safety features as standard, but while the Nios gets four airbags, the Tiago makes do with only two.
4. Automatic Headlamps With Follow-Me Function

The Swift comes with an automatic headlamp function which also enables a follow-me function. This makes it very useful when you park the car in poorly-lit conditions and you need to get to your doorstep safely without falling or tripping over anything.
The headlights themselves function well on their own, with the projectors being bright enough for most cases, but their throw in high beam could certainly be better.
Variants Available: The automatic headlamp function is available from the ZXi variant onwards, which begins at Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom). This variant comes with both manual and automatic transmission options, and the ZXi+ variants also offer this feature.
Competitor Check: The Tiago offers follow-me headlamps from the XM variant onwards, which is priced at Rs 5.79 lakh, while automatic headlamps can be had from the XZ variant, available from Rs 6.99 lakh. The Grand i10 Nios also follows a similar approach by offering follow-me lamps from the Magna variant (Rs 6.84 lakh), and automatic function from the Sportz variant (Rs 7.42 lakh, all prices ex-showroom).
5. Rear A/C Vents

The Swift comes with rear A/C vents, which helps keep things cool even for the rear passengers. The cabin of the Swift is good enough for two people to sit comfortably. Adding a third passenger into the mix will tighten things up, but it will still be manageable for shorter distances.
The rear A/C vents also come with a USB-A and a USB-C type charging port as well, along with a small outlet where you can keep your phone while it is getting charged.
Variants Available: The rear A/C vents are available as standard from the ZXi variant onwards, which can be had from Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
Competition Check: The Grand i10 Nios also offers rear A/C vents from the Magna variant onwards, but the Tiago does not offer them at all.
6. Wireless Smartphone Connectivity

One of the most interesting things about the new Swift is that it gets wireless smartphone connectivity in most variants. The smaller 7-inch touch screen and the 9-inch touch screen can be paired to your smartphone wirelessly, making things even more convenient for the driver and passenger.
Variants Available: The Swift gets wireless connectivity right from the VXi variant, which can be had from Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
Competition Check: The Grand i10 Nios offers a wireless adapter which has recently been made available, while the Tiago offers wireless connectivity from the XZ variant onwards, priced at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Features Missing On The New Swift
Rear passenger armrest: The Maruti Suzuki Swift misses out on an armrest on the rear bench, and having one would certainly make things more comfortable, in which is otherwise a roomy and spacious cabin for two adults.
Cooled glovebox: The new Swift also misses out on a cooled glovebox, which is something available on the Grand i10 Nios and the Tiago.
