Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi-Hybrid Street Rally

The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Street Hybrid has been designed with an outlook of a street fighter scooter. The rally-inspired elements as such the knuckle guards and the multipurpose tyres provide it with a rugged look and styling that appeals to a younger audience. The Ray ZR 125 Fi Street Rally Hybrid maintains a popular sporty look. It has got muscular design, a Y-shaped DRL, an apron-mounted headlight, and a tinted flyscreen. The Street Rally variant offers additional upgraded features which are on the front apron and the sides, and also a pair of knuckle guards. The new Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Street Rally Fi Hybrid gets an LED headlight that replaces the halogen unit. It comes with a dual-tone finish and body-coloured rim strips. It uses telescopic front forks and a single rear spring to handle the suspension duties. The floor mat gives a tough image with the overall stylish design. 

The Ray ZR 125 Fi Street Rally is a big scooter dimension-wise. The overall design is large and one can easily spot it on the road. Yamaha has made sure that this large design do not hinder the maneuverability of the Ray ZR scooter. Yamaha India has brought the kerb weight down to as low as 99kg, with a 5.2-litre fuel tank capacity. The scooter has a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster. The length is about 1880 mm, the width is about 750 mm, and the height is pretty good as 1190 mm. Its ground clearance is about 145 mm and its wheelbase is around 1280 mm. The under-seat storage is quite large to keep essential things, it is about 21L.  And the new mesh seat cover gives additional comfort with an extra cushion.The lightweight offers the scooter’s fuel efficiency being an impressive 56.79kpl in the city and 62.80kpl on the highway. The seat height is perfect for every rider. The Street Rally version isn't available with drum brakes. 

Yamaha is well known for making it one of the most powerful and performance-rich engines. The Ray ZR scooter is no exception either. The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Street Rally Fi Hybrid comes with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG), which is the new feature that has been introduced. It works like an electric motor and provides power assist when taking off from a standstill or going up a hill. SMG offers a quieter engine start, it reverses the direction of electricity release. It helps in the Automatic Stop & Start System. It offers up to 155cc air-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine which develops 8.2 PS of max power at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. In terms of chassis setup, nothing much has changed from the previous models. Telescopic suspension is present in front and a single-sided coil spring at the rear. Maintenance Free (MF) Battery offers a tough and long-lasting charge. It helps the two Wheeler charge faster. 

The indicator light in the instrument cluster notifies the rider when the Power Assist function is in operation. In Yamaha scooter, drive force at the rear at low speeds has gone up by 30%. The acceleration is from 0 to 200 metres. Power in the 30-60 km/h range has been improved by 30%. Both the Ray ZR 125 Fi hybrid and Ray ZR 125 Street Rally Fi Hybrid have a pass switch, multifunctional key opener and Side Stand Engine Cut off Switch, which is one of the noticeable features for all two-wheelers of Yamaha. 

Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Street Rally has more or less the same mechanical and functional features as Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid. But the Street Rally offers Brush guard and Block pattern tyres along with coloured wheel stripes. They enhance the sporty look of the scooter. The block pattern tyres offer comfortable rides on rough roads. That makes it ideal against cold and damp roads. And the Brush guards shield the rider's hands from oncoming airflow.  Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi hybrid wears tyres of 90/90-12 size in the front and 110/90-10 in the rear along with a cast wheel combined with a disc brake that offers comfort and safety, like Yamaha, India has also updated its comfort and safety features for its riders. The tyres have a diameter of 254 mm. The scooter uses a 12-inch front wheel and 10-inch rear-wheel setup that offers good handling and stability, and delivers overall ride quality on any road condition.

UBS (Unified Braking System) provides better stopping power to two-wheelers. UBS links the front and the rear brakes with the rear brake pedal. It helps to reduce braking distance, makes handling better during braking, and offers smoother chassis behaviour during braking. An in-built side stand and engine cut-off switch are available. 

Telescopic suspension in the front offers control of all road conditions. The LED flasher improves night and daytime visibility. The scooter offers a USB charging socket. The stop-start feature is another contributing factor. The ride is firm at low speeds, and the suspension transmits undulations to the rider. The Ray ZR 125 Fi Street Rally scooter comes with a bunch of connected features. These include the Bluetooth smartphone connectivity that aids the rider on the go.
