Hi, I'm Tejen. I was born and brought up in a small town of Haryana. However, from the day of my birth and until now, I've always lived around cars and motorcycles. More than passion, the automotive world is my only lifestyle. It's the connection to the vehicle that delivers me peace. However, when it comes to a choice; my instinct leads me towards motorcycles.

While the base design of the new Ranger is the same as the earlier one, it is now transformed into a cruiser. Hence, lots of new accessories have been fitted on it. For example, the front end is loaded with additional headlamps along with an LED light, a big windscreen, raised handlebar, etc. Similarly, it gets an engine crash guard, big footpegs for the rider as well a pillion. To make it look more hardcore cruiser, it now gets leather split seats, a pillion backrest, and luggage storage boxes with 50-lt of space.

To make it look more quirky, it gets dual sound pipes with a flame effect as well. This is more of a gimmick rather than a utility part but it is definitely something not seen on any e-bike; until now. Other new features include a new 7-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, Google Maps, a Sound System with phone call support, a USB mobile charging port, an Auto Repair Switch, & even a Cruise Control Parking Assist. In addition to this, it also gets gear modes with a reverse parking gear function as well.

Battery, Range, & Performance

The new Ranger cruiser bike is equipped with the same old battery setup. However, it still remains highly competent with this setup. It gets a 5000 Watt BLDC Hub Motor. This electric motor provides the Ranger a claimed riding range from 200-250 km per charge depending on the riding conditions. However, as per Komaki, this range drops in real-life riding cycles. Hence, its actual riding range hovers between 180-200 km per charge. Also, this battery takes up to 4 hours to get charged from 0 to 90 percent. Additionally, owners can monitor the battery charging via the Komaki app. It also gets a portable charger that helps in remote charging at mobile locations.

Verdict - Price & Rivals

Komaki has introduced the new Ranger electric cruiser at Rs 1,85,500 only. However, this price differs on the city chosen. Meanwhile, it remains the only electric cruiser bike; hence it has no direct competition. However, buyers who look for e-bike options can also opt for Revolt RV 400 or HOP Oxo bikes around this budget.
