Bajaj Auto Sales August 2026: Total Volumes Cross 5.35 Lakh Units: Check Details Inside

Bajaj Auto clocked total sales of 5,35,764 units in August 2026, which is a healthy growth from 4,17,616 units a year ago, a growth of 28%. More importantly, exports have contributor to this jump, growing fast enough to outsell the domestic market in both two-wheelers and the overall numbers. Two-wheelers and commercial vehicles both played a part in lifting the overall figure, but it was clearly the overseas business driving the show this time. Bajaj sales - Domestic vs Exports

As mentioned in the table above, the Two-wheeler volumes for Bajaj grew 30% over last August, but the split between the two markets tells the real story. Domestic sales moved up at a comparatively gentle 10%, while exports added over 84,000 units to jump 53% year-on-year. That surge means shipments abroad now make up close to 55% of Bajaj's total two-wheeler business, comfortably ahead of what it sells at home.

Combined Domestic and Export Split

Pooling two-wheelers and commercial vehicles together, Bajaj's domestic sales came in at 2,55,708 units, a 10% year-on-year rise, while total exports reached 2,80,056 units, up 51%. That put export volumes ahead of domestic sales for the month, with shipments abroad accounting for roughly 52% of everything Bajaj sold in August - a reversal of the pattern that typically holds for most Indian two-wheeler makers.

FY27: First 5 Months

The five-month numbers confirm this isn't a one-off. Bajaj has sold 24,48,692 vehicles between April and August 2026, up 29% over the same window last year, and exports have outpaced domestic sales cumulatively as well - 12,66,714 units shipped overseas against 11,81,978 sold in India. Two-wheeler exports alone are up 50% for the year so far, while commercial vehicle sales have grown a healthy 28%.
