New Hero Scooter - Is It A Xoom 125 Version?

Spied on during a test run, this mysterious scooter looks similar to the Xoom 110. Why so? Well, despite being covered completely, it does have similar design panels. Also, the footboard area and the cubby holes are similar to the Xoom 110. Additionally, the speedometer area design is also similar-looking to the Xoom. However, the rear-end design is a bit different. While it does look similar here via the taillight design; the rear tyre profile is bigger. It also has a splash guard above the rear tyre. This entices the doubt that it is possible a bigger version of Xoom. Hero has also confirmed in the past that it is working on a bigger maxi scooter. So, can it be the bigger 125 Xoom version?

Well, it is highly possible as Hero also has a 125cc engine ready for it. This engine can be possibly sourced from the Maestro Edge 125. However, Hero might re-tune it as per the dimensional & performance requirements of the Xoom. Hero recently launched the new Xtreme 160R V4 in India. Also, a new Karizma XMR 210 is planned for launch in the coming months. Hero is also working on a bigger Xpulse ADV bike with possibly a 400cc engine.

Verdict - The new Hero scooter seems to be a new version of the Xoom. As it is currently undergoing road testing, we suspect that there is still time before it gets introduced in the Indian market. We suspect that Hero will debut this scooter later this year. More details about it'll emerge as we approach the launch of this scooter.
