Hi, I'm Tejen. I was born and brought up in a small town of Haryana. However, from the day of my birth and until now, I've always lived around cars and motorcycles. More than passion, the automotive world is my only lifestyle. It's the connection to the vehicle that delivers me peace. However, when it comes to a choice; my instinct leads me towards motorcycles.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Details

Royal Enfield Classic 650

Speaking of the Classic 650 is based on the same platform as Interceptor 650. However, it'll draw the majority of its design from the Classic 350. In fact, as seen in the spy pics, both models look more or less the same apart from their size difference. Additionally, the 650cc engine is also similar to the Interceptor as it uses a chrome coating. The interesting this to note is the design of the split seat. It is something never seen on an RE before. The rear seat is based on a cradle which is hinged to the frame via bolts. This looks quite interesting and retro overall.

Other design details include the LED headlight with telescopic front suspension and rear design similar to the Classic 350 itself. However, the spoke rims are new for a 650cc as these are also inspired by the smaller Classic model. RE will use the same 648cc parallel-twin engine on it with some changes to the power delivery and gear ratios. Mind you, the chrome twin-exhausts also look retro and they've been inspired by the Super Meteor 650.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber - Details

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber

The last time when the 350 Bobber was spied on, it was draped in a blueish shade. Also, it had only a single seat. This time, the test bike has the same split seat as seen on the Classic 650 test bike but the white wall tyres remain unaltered. What's interesting to note is that it uses a high-raised handlebar similar to the chopper bikes seen in Western countries. This all-new handlebar has gloss black switchgear with black levers. Another change is the engine and its components which are now gloss black painted. The Bobber seen here uses a sidebox for luggage, but we suspect it won't be a standard part of it. RE might be using it for testing purposes only.

Mechanically, the Bobber will be essentially the same as the Classic 350. But, the design differences and change in the riding posture will give it a different identity. It'll be more focused on city riding and short rides but its main USP will be its looks and design. The engine will be the same J-series 348cc single-cylinder unit as we see on the current 350cc lineup.

Verdict - When Will They Launch?

As both of the bikes are undergoing the testing phase, we anticipate that there is still time left for their launch. RE is known for extensively testing its products before launch. Hence, we think that both of these models will witness a global debut by the end of next year. Therefore, their launch timeline for India can be as far as 2025. More details will emerge for both bikes as we approach the end of this year.
