Royal Enfield Classic 650 Spied Testing - Design Similar To Classic 350!

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - What To Expect?

The spy photos show that the Classic 650 looks strikingly similar to the Classic 350. However, it will be based on the Interceptor 650 platform. The design, however, is a complete neo-retro and the test bike was seen with a similar-looking headlight & cowl as the Classic 350. Also, it has a split seat setup and a sculpted fuel tank. The footpegs are center-set and the tubular handlebar is a tad upright with the new switchgear as that of the Super Meteor 650. Even the rear-end design of it is similar to the Classic 350. However, the chrome twin exhaust cans are slightly upward in design and the rear tyre is also butch.

Apart from the design, the visible features include an LED headlight, LED taillight, halogen turn indicators, etc. We suspect that it'll get a new semi-digital instrument console with Bluetooth phone connectivity. Other visible specifications include spoke rims, telescopic suspension at the front, & shockers at the rear end. As it is based on the 650 platform, it'll get the same 648cc parallel-twin engine as the other siblings. This engine generates a peak power of 47 bhp & 52.3 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission and also features a slipper clutch. Meanwhile, RE might re-tune this engine and gear ratios to adjust with the weight and dimensions of the Classic 650.

Verdict - When Will It Launch?

As it is the first test mule that has been spied on, we suspect there is still time to state the launch timeline. RE is known for testing its bikes for a long. Similar is the case with the upcoming Himalayan 450 ADV. Hence, the Classic 650 can be expected to debut globally by the end of next year. Therefore, its India launch can take place by the first quarter of 2025. We suspect that its pricing will be upwards of Rs 3.25 lakh.
