Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle manufacturer, Ultraviolette Automotive, has recently secured the trademark for the name "X44" in India. Speculations suggest that the Ultraviolette X44 could potentially be Ultraviolette's second electric motorcycle offering, following the successful launch of the Ultraviolette F77. However, the patent filings hint at a different route as well. An Electric scooter !!

As of now, the Ultraviolette F77 holds the title of being the fastest and most expensive electric two-wheeler available in India. This high-performance electric motorcycle has garnered attention for its impressive acceleration and advanced features, making it a flagship offering from the Bengaluru-based startup, Ultraviolette Automotive. Meanwhile, at its launch, the brand showcased the design for a few more products.

But why do we say that it could be either a bike or a scooter? Because that's the liberty that the patent took.

While the F77 represents the company's top-tier offering, the X44-badged product is likely to be a more accessible option. The trademark application's mention of the name being usable for either an electric motorcycle or a scooter further adds to the anticipation of what the new offering will entail. By exploring various segments in the electric two-wheeler market, Ultraviolette Automotive aims to diversify its lineup and meet the growing demand for electric mobility solutions in India.

The electric scooter market in India is highly competitive at the moment. The established and new players are vying for a strong presence. If Ultraviolette Automotive's X44 becomes an electric scooter, it will face tough competition from well-known brands. It will rub shoulders with the likes of Ola S1 and the TVS iQube electric scooters.

Ultraviolette F77: The Only Product

As of now, the Ultraviolette F77 remains the sole offering from the bike maker, presented in three variants  Standard, Recon, and Limited.

The base model is priced at Rs. 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Recon variant carries a price tag of Rs. 4.55 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the top-of-the-line F77 Limited variant, it was priced at Rs. 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom), but due to its exclusivity with only 77 units available, all units have already been sold out. The F77 Limited's popularity showcases the demand for high-performance electric motorcycles in the Indian market.
