Bajaj-Triumph Scrambler - Better Than Royal Enfield?

Bajaj-Triumph Scrambler

As visible in the latest photos, the upcoming Scrambler will be a unique product for both Bajaj & Triumph. It is suspected to be a 350-400cc motorcycle which is expected to be offered in two variants at first. This engine might make a peak power output upwards of 35 bhp. Its design will be that of a roadster but with a slightly dedicated riding posture. The test mule visible here is seen with LED lights, 17-alloy wheels, bar-end mirrors, & a sculpted fuel tank. Also, most of the components on the bike are matte black in contrast. Meanwhile, a short flyscreen at the front makes up for neo-retro looks. It'll get equipped with LED indicators as well as a round LED headlight.

In terms of features, one can expect that it'll get a semi-digital instrument console. Also, it might get connected features like Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, SMS/Call alerts, etc. Also, the visible hardware shows that it'll be equipped with bigger disc brakes at both of its ends. The front suspension is a USD unit while the rear uses a monoshock. Being monitored under the Triumph moniker, it is expected to get supreme fit & finish. However, Bajaj is the one that will operate the sales & service department for it in India; post-launch.

Verdict

The upcoming Bajaj-Triumph Scrambler will directly take on the rivals like Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & KTM 390 Duke. However, being made under the Triumph name, it'll be priced a notch above its rivals. Bajaj plans to launch it in India by Spetmeber'23. We expect that it'll be priced somewhere between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 2.8 lakh ex-showroom upon its launch.
