Okinawa is India's second largest selling electric two-wheeler brand. The company had showcased high-speed as well as high range electric scooters at the 2020 Auto Expo but due to Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of changes in the product pipeline took place. However, they are now ready for a great year ahead and what we caught today might be the upcoming Okinawa Okhi90 electric scooter. It looks big and might go on to become the largest electric scooter on sale in India.
While the company is tight lipped on its upcoming range which will include large e-scooters, what we saw today did look very promising. The company has on earlier occasions shared hints on its product pipeline. This includes the Okhi90 (internal codename) which should promise the longest riding range on any electric scooter in the country. Here are few aspects we noticed on the scooter.
We loved the tail lamp design of the upcoming Okinawa Okhi90 electric scooter - looks a lot like the Aprilia SXR160 right?
The scooter will end offering one of the largest wheels in the segment. Notice the large disc brake and proper telescopic forks.
The rear tyre also looks good and yes, a rear disc brake as well!
The upcoming Okinawa Okhi90 electric scooter will get LED DRLs along with what look like LED indicators. Ditto for the main headlamps! The rear view mirrors are finished in chrome.
The scooter will also get a full digital console with possible Bluetooth connectivity. On the right side, you can see the switch to toggle between Eco and Power modes
When launched, this upcoming electric scooter will be one of the best in the segment and highly recommended from us. It looks big, will be feature loaded and if online reports are to be believed, it might just offer a riding range of 200km! We wish the company all the best for this product.
