Ola Electric S1 X Gen 2
The Gen 3 Ola S1X is arriving in January 2025 in our region. The S1X is the most affordable electric scooter in the S1 series. This electric scooter is available in three battery pack options- 2 kWh, 3 kWh and 4 kWh, enabling a range of up to 193 km per charger. The S1X on the other hand provides a range of 151 km on a solitary charge. The Ola S1 X offers features such as a 4.3-inch display while the S1 X+ gets a 5-inch LCD unit. Both offer all LED lights, reverse mode, a decent under seat storage of 34 litres and three ride modes- Eco, normal and sports.

Ola sells the S1 X in four variants: 2kWh, 3kWh, 4kWh, and Plus. All of the variants are equipped with more or less the same features. However, the 2kWh makes a strong case because of its costing. It is priced aggressively and has a decent range for city riding. We suggest opting for it because of its better value-for-money proposition.

The Ola S1 X is the perfect choice for buyers seeking an electric scooter with excellent range and a smooth ride. Its various battery options cater to all buyers' requirements. Its cutting-edge tech and futuristic design make it a real standout on the road. But, the lack of disc brakes makes it a less fun scooter to ride. We recommend it to family buyers who have a high monthly or annual running.
- The S1 X's styling and design are similar to those of the S1 Pro Gen 2. However, it has less equipment, which differentiates it from the top variants of the Ola lineup. The dual-tone black colour combinations look good, while the LED lights make it look futuristic.
- The rider seat is super spacious and very well cushioned. If you’re going to sit for long hours on it every day, it’ll provide reasonable comfort. Also, the massive underseat storage space is helpful for ferrying luggage.

- The S1 X is a very agile scooter to ride. The rider can easily maneuver it in the city thanks to its low weight and weight distribution. Also, the turning radius is short, which helps in tight parking spaces and easy U-turns.
- The S1 X gets a telescopic suspension at the front and shockers at the rear. The suspension setup has been tuned for a comfortable ride. It remains pliant and relaxed on the bad roads. Also, surprise potholes and undulations do not easily unsettle it.
- The suspension is for highways and straight roads. It lets riders feel confident at high speeds. Yet, it's more firm than Ather's. As a result, the rear suspension, especially, tends to bottom out on sharp potholes.
- Ola claims to have the fastest performance in the segment with the S1 X. It can do 0-40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds. The 2kWh version has a top speed of 85 kmph, while the other variants can reach 90 kmph.
- The advance regeneration helps in charging the battery, thus increasing the riding range.
- Ola also offers cruise control on the select version of the S1 X. If you ride more on the highway and less in the city, this feature is a boon. It also helps in retaining good range.
- The S1 X comes equipped with only drum brakes. The performance of the brakes is just moderate and not up to the mark considering the scooter can go really fast.
- The battery range is at par with the rivals. In fact, it provides the longest range in the segment at this price point. However, the drain in range is evident if you ride it hard and fast.
- The S1 X is the most feature-rich scooter in the segment. It gets LED lights, a digital 5-inch console with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, ride modes, and more. All of these features make it an intelligent scooter to ride. Also, features like cruise control help a lot to the highway riders.
- The S1 X's charging time is on the higher side. Without fast charging, it can easily take more than 7-8 hours to completely charge it.
- For added safety, Ola also provides features like proximity lock. Moreover, the Ola electric app and personalized rider profiles make it easy to control the scooter from a distance.
