Last Updated on 18th Nov'24: The Brixton Crossfire 500X is the latest addition to the Indian motorcycle industry. Kolhapur-based Motohaus brought the Austrian brand Brixton in India and the Crossfire 500X is the most affordable model available in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 4.74 lakh (ex-showroom), the Crossfire 500X comes with a 486cc parallel-twin engine producing 46 bhp of power and 43 Nm of peak torque.

Brixton Crossfire 500 Detailed Review
- The Crossfire 500 X looks compact, and the X-shaped pattern on its fuel tank adds to the sharp and sleek feeling. The 500 XC is a scrambler based on the Crossfire 500 X, but it differentiates itself with more hardcore elements.
- The 17-inch tubeless spoke rims are shod on rather thick rubber, and along with the fat USD forks give the Crossfire 500 X a beefy, imposing stance. The XC gets the same treatment, but with a 19-inch wheel up front and a 17-inch wheel at the rear.
- With a healthy mix of black and chrome bits, the Crossfire 500X looks thoroughly neo-retro, while the small windscreen and headlamp guards on the XC add a sense of toughness.
- The round side panel is a nod to the round racing number plates found on retro scrambler motorcycles in the older days
- Two colour options on the 500X, while the XC comes with one option only.

- The Crossfire 500 X gets KYB suspension on both ends; USD forks with adjustable compression, along with a preload and rebound adjustable monoshock. The XC adds full adjustability and a bit more travel given its dual-purpose nature.
- The tubeless spoke rims are shod on Pirelli Angel ST tyres, which reduces a great amount of hassle if one were to experience punctures.
- The braking hardware comes from J-Juan: a 320mm disc with a four-piston calliper at the front, along with a 240mm disc with a dual-piston calliper at the rear. Dual-channel ABS comes courtesy of Bosch.
- With a kerb weight of 190kg and a seat height of 795mm, the Crossfire 500 X should be a fairly accessible bike for most types of riders. Meanwhile on the XC, the 851mm seat height might prove to be a little challenging for newer riders, but it likely won’t take too long to get used to.
- Powering both motorcycles is the same 486cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, producing 46.9bhp at 8000rpm, and 43Nm of torque at 650rpm.
- The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission, and there seems to be no mention of a slip-and-assist clutch. It also reaches a claimed top-speed of 160kmph.
- Brixton says it has deliberately avoided adding a ride-by-wire system to ‘teachings of the over-engineered motorcycle world.
- The exhaust pipe gets a two-in-one treatment, and it is made out of stainless steel. The exhaust note gives the motorcycle a deep sound with a rich character.
