Design: The BYD Atto 1 will feature a compact and modern design with a youthful, urban-focused appeal. Its clean surfaces, sharp LED headlamps and a distinctive front fascia give it a contemporary identity, while the contrasting black elements and sculpted bumpers add a touch of sportiness. At the rear, a connected LED light bar and neatly integrated spoiler enhance its visual width, making it look more substantial than its size suggests. The overall stance, with short overhangs and pronounced wheel arches, reinforces its positioning as a city-friendly electric hatchback-SUV crossover.

Dimensions: The Atto 1 is built with compact proportions suited for urban environments. It measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,720 mm in width and 1,590 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm, ensuring a balance between cabin space and manoeuvrability. It offers a ground clearance of 155 mm, making it practical for city roads.

Features: Inside, the BYD Atto 1 will adopt a clean and tech-forward cabin layout with a focus on usability. It is expected to offer the same set of features as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a digital instrument cluster, along with wireless smartphone connectivity and voice control features. Convenience features include keyless entry, wireless charging, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs, and a multifunction steering wheel. The cabin also benefits from connected car tech, OTA updates, and a practical layout with split-folding rear seats, making it well-suited for daily use.

Safety: Safety is a strong highlight, with the Atto 1 offering a comprehensive suite of features as standard. It includes multiple airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Additionally, it comes equipped with ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, autonomous emergency braking, and forward collision warning, enhancing both active and passive safety for urban driving.

Battery and Range: Powering the Atto 1 is BYD’s Blade Battery technology, available in multiple configurations. The larger pack offers up to 43.2 kWh capacity, delivering a claimed range of up to 310 km (WLTP). The electric motor produces up to 115 kW and 220 Nm, ensuring adequate performance for city and occasional highway use. Fast charging support allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes.

Launch and Price Expectations: Expected to launch around mid-2027 in India, it will arrive as a compact electric crossover targeting city buyers, with an expected price range of around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against other budget-friendly EVs.
