Mahindra Vision SXT Latest Update
Last Updated on 18th Aug'25: Mahindra Vision SXT is a futuristic pickup concept unveiled at the Freedom_NU event. Based on the Vision T SUV and built on the NU_IQ platform, it combines rugged Thar-inspired styling with a short load bed, strapped spare wheels, and muscular proportions. Inside, it offers a tech-heavy cabin with dual screens, panoramic sunroof, and segment-leading space. Expected powertrains include single- and dual-motor EV setups with 400-500 km range, along with ICE and hybrid options. Launch is expected around 2026-27, with prices likely starting from Rs.25 lakh..
Design: The Vision SXT is Mahindra’s boldest design experiment yet, evolving the Vision T SUV into a pickup-style concept. While carrying the same Heartcore design DNA, it adopts a more rugged and utilitarian body style.
Up front, the SXT features a thick rectangular grille with vertical slats, flanked by stacked LED headlamps and aggressive DRLs. The bonnet is muscular with exposed hardware, while the bumper integrates a wide air intake and silver skid plate for an unmistakable off-road vibe. From the side, its boxy silhouette, squared-off wheel arches, exposed hinges, and blocky alloys with all-terrain tyres highlight its purpose-built stance. The C-pillar design marks its biggest departure from the Vision T - behind it lies a short pickup bed with roll bars, angular tailgate styling, and strapped spare wheels. At the rear, slim vertical LED lamps linked by a black panel with “Vision SXT” branding give it a futuristic yet tough character. The chunky bumper, integrated skid plate, and high-set stop lamps further enhance its off-road appeal. Dual-tone shades (such as orange/black) complete the lifestyle-truck persona.
Interior: Inside, the Vision SXT shares much of its cabin layout with the Vision T but adds pickup practicality. It comes with: Dual digital screens - a digital instrument cluster and a portrait-oriented infotainment unit running the NU_UX interface.Three-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls. Minimalist dashboard with vertical AC vents and physical switchgear for key functions. Premium yet durable materials for adventure-readiness.
Panoramic sunroof for an airy feel. The SUV offers five-seat capacity, prioritising comfort and spaciousness. Mahindra claims up to 937 mm of rear legroom and 1,404 mm shoulder room, making it class-leading for its size.
Platform: The Vision SXT is underpinned by the NU_IQ modular monocoque platform, capable of supporting multiple body styles and powertrains. It measures between 3,990 mm and 4,320 mm in length with a 2,665 mm wheelbase and boasts a tight 10.3 m turning radius - impressive for a pickup concept.Powertrains are unconfirmed, but Mahindra is likely to offer: Single-motor RWD producing 230-250 bhp.Dual-motor AWD with 300–350 bhp. Battery range is expected at 400-500 km, with fast-charging support. The NU_IQ also accommodates ICE, hybrid, and EV powertrains, making the production SXT versatile for global markets. For capability, Mahindra is targeting class-leading off-road geometry (approach, breakover, departure angles), a penta-link rear suspension, and up to 227 mm ground clearance. Safety will also be a highlight, with ADAS Level 2, 360 degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, and a 5-star crash safety rating goal.
Expected Price & Launch: The Mahindra Vision SXT is still in its concept stage, but a production model is expected around late 2026–27. Positioned above the Vision T, it is likely to be priced between Rs. 25-35 lakh (ex-showroom) for entry-level variants, especially in EV form. As India’s first attempt at an all-electric lifestyle pickup truck, the Vision SXT will appeal to adventure seekers, urban lifestyle buyers, and eco-conscious businesses a like.
