Tata Tiago Facelift

The new-gen Tata Tiago is the entry-level vehicle of Tata Motors in the market. The new version follows a new design language that gives it an expressive front and rear profile. The brand has followed the design cues of existing Tata vehicles and offered a connected taillamp at the rear. The interior gets several segment-first features and a new layout that makes it look premium. Moreover, the engine options of the new Tiago remain similar to the previous version. It continues to come with a 1.2-liter NA petrol and a CNG engine option.

The new-generation Tata Tiago is now a more mature product that focuses on enhanced comfort, improved features, and a more refined design. The pricing feels spot on for a small hatchback, while the updated feature list makes it even more appealing. However, the 3-cylinder engine is not the best in the segment in terms of refinement and fuel efficiency. That said, it still holds a strong position in the small hatchback market, especially as it remains the only hatchback to offer multiple powertrain options, including petrol, CNG, and EV.

Updated design looks more mature and appealing

The cabin is packed with a good number of features and some segment-first features

Only hatchback in the segment to offer multiple powertrains, petrol, CNG, and EV

Features like a 10.25-inch screen, wireless connectivity, wireless charging pads, cooled glovebox enhance convenience inside the cabin

Decent-sized boot to fit 2-3 suitcases (medium size)

Dual-cylinder CNG enhances boot space in the CNG versions

What could have been better

The AMT gearbox is laggy and jerky in shifts

The NVH of the petrol engine is not the best in the segment

No adjustable headrest for the front and back rows

No changes in dimension, the rear row is suitable for 2 only
