Tata Tiago Facelift Detailed Review
- The all-new Tata Tiago boasts a new front profile with a new design for the LED headlamps, new LED DRLs, a new front grille, and a new bumper with blacked-out centre elements and LED fog lamps. The overall front profile now looks more sophisticated and in line with Tata’s new design language that we have also seen on the new Punch.
- On the sides, it now comes with new dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels to maintain a sharper appeal. The door handles and body lines remain similar to the previous version. However, the side mirror design has been tweaked, and it now comes with a 360-degree camera, with the side cameras placed on both ORVMs.
- At the rear, the overall profile has been changed. It now comes with new connected LED taillamps, a tweaked tailgate design, a new bumper, a shark fin antenna, and continues to offer a rear washer, wiper, and defogger.
- The cabin of the new Tiago packs a host of features, some of which are segment-first offerings, making it a tough rival for its competitors. The new Tiago comes with a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, four speakers, auto-folding ORVMs, a cooled glovebox, a wireless charging pad, a 360-degree camera, steering-mounted controls, and cruise control, among other features.
- The cabin comes with fabric seats along with fabric inserts on the door pads and dashboard. The use of grey-coloured fabric blends well with the black panels inside the cabin. However, all four seats miss out on adjustable headrests, which feels like a cost-cutting measure. Thankfully, it offers a front centre armrest and rear AC vents.
- The overall interior theme is decent considering the segment, but the dual-tone treatment gives it a distinctive appeal. Other design elements include a rotary gear knob (AMT only), two cupholders for the front-row passengers, and physical controls for the climate control system.
- With the new update, the engine remains unchanged from the previous generation. It continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox option. While the engine is not the most refined unit in the segment, it gets the job done well and offers decent performance for city driving.
- The iCNG variant is also powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine that produces 75.5 PS of power (in CNG mode) and 96.5 Nm of peak torque. This engine too comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The Tiago iCNG features direct CNG start and an automatic fuel-switching function. Moreover, it is the only hatchback in its segment to offer both an AMT gearbox and a direct CNG start feature.

- Tata has always pushed safety as one of its biggest strengths, and the new-generation Tiago comes loaded with several safety features. It offers six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, ISOFIX child seat mounts, five 3-point seat belts, TPMS, automatic headlamps, LED fog lamps, and a 360-degree camera, among other features.
- The CNG version gets some additional safety features such as a micro switch, thermal incident protection, and leak detection. Along with these, it continues to offer all the safety features available in the petrol version.
