The newly launched Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is a good alternative if you don’t want to buy the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It does offer a bit of distinction from the exterior, but the interior only gets the Toyota logo and a different colour theme. The premium price tag over the Fronx is not justified by the Taisor. It will most likely attract those customers who don’t want a Maruti badge on their car but like the Fronx.

Pros & Cons of Taisor

What we admire in this car

It offers a muscular design language with some subtle changes to make it different from Fronx

Available multiple engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 1.2-litre CNG engine, and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine

Offers a good number of features such as a 360-camera, head-up display, premium sound system, wireless charging, automatic climate control, and more

The 6-speed AT gearbox with the turbo petrol engine is smooth and less laggy

The 1.2-litre petrol and CNG engine offers good fuel efficiency

The cabin is well sorted with enough storage spaces and good space for 5 people

The interior color theme makes it a bit more premium

Comes with 5 monotone and 3 dual-tone colour options

Toyota’s 3-year and 1 lakh km warranty is the best in the segment

What could have been better

Despite being the rebadged version of the Maruti Fronx, the Toyota Taisor comes with a higher price tag

The Taisor does not offer much of a difference on the inside in comparison to Fronx

The Taisor’s turbo petrol engine is not as enthusiastic as its rivals like Hyundai Venue & KIA Sonet

The rivals offer an option of a diesel engine

The CNG is available in the base variant only

It lacks features such as auto wipers, TPMS, ADAS, rear armrest, and more

The 308-litre boot space is not as good as the competitors

Should I buy the Taisor?

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor does not bring any exclusivity, it is just a rebadged version of the Fronx with some design changes. If you are someone who doesn’t like the colour options and design language of the Fronx, the Taisor will serve as the same alternative with some design changes which might attract you. The interior has a similar layout. One advantage it gets over the Fronx is the 3-year and 1 lakh km warranty which results in a more worry-free ownership experience. On the other hand, if you want more features that offer and more premium experience you can look for the KIA Sonet or Hyundai Venue.

Where Performance Meets Royal Style

This car offers a smooth and comfortable ride with excellent engine performance. The ground clearance is great, and I feel safe knowing it is equipped with airbags. Gear shifting is seamless, and the built-in sound system is impressive. With its royal design that resembles an Audi especially from the rear. It truly feels like a premium car for my family.

Great Value Family Car with SUV Comfort

It is a good car for a small family. It gives a crossover SUV-like feeling and is very comfortable to drive. The 1.2-liter 4-cylinder engine performs really well. Fuel efficiency is good, and the balance of power and mileage is impressive. The cabin space is nice, comfortable, and suitable for family use. Even the base model feels premium and well-equipped. Overall, it is a value-for-money car.
