Vayve Eva Latest Update
Last Updated On 7th Jan 2024: The Vayve Eva, touted as India’s first solar-powered car, is set to make a splash at the **Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Following its debut at the Auto Expo 2023, the Eva is now rumored to be production-ready. Vayve Mobility has announced that pre-launch bookings for the Eva will commence in January 2025.
Design: The Vayve Eva is a compact 2-door, 2-seater quadricycle designed for urban commutes. With dimensions of 3,060 mm in length, 1,150 mm in width (excluding ORVMs), and 1,590 mm in height, the Eva is slightly larger than the MG Comet EV in length and wheelbase but falls behind in width and height.
Performance: The Vayve Eva is powered by a 14 kWh IP68-rated battery pack paired with an 8.15 PS/40 Nm electric motor driving the rear wheels. It offers a claimed range of 250 km and a top speed of 70 km/h. One of its standout features is its ability to harness solar energy, providing up to 10 km of additional daily range and up to 3,000 km annually. The operational cost is remarkably low at Rs 0.5 per km.
Charging: Charging flexibility is a key highlight of the Eva EV. It supports charging via a standard 15A AC socket, achieving 80% charge in 4 hours, while a DC fast charger can do the same in just 45 minutes. Additionally, fast charging can provide 50 km of range in as little as 5 minutes which makes it convenient for quick top-ups.
Features: key features of the Vayve Eva EV include a dual digital display setup with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-way powered driver seat, and a fixed glass roof. For safety, it gets a driver airbag and seat belts for both occupants.
Launch & Rivals: The Vayve Eva is expected to hit the market shortly after its showcase in January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Positioned as a competitor to the MG Comet EV, the Eva also bears similarities to the now-discontinued Bajaj Qute.
