2015 Honda Activa Ownership Review - Reliable Scooter For City Commute

The Honda Activa was one of the first successful automatic scooters in India and has been one of the highest-selling scooters in the segment till date. The Activa has always been know for its refined engine, supreme reliability, an elegant design, and commendable after-sales experience. Back in 2015, the brand launched the Honda Activa 3G and since we were in the market to buy a new scooter, we finalised and bought this. With this being said, here is my 2015 Honda Activa Ownership review. But before we start, here are some quick details about the scooter:

City: Delhi NCR

Registration Year: 2015

Odometer Readings: 34934 kms

 Honda Activa Ownership Review

The Honda Activa 3G gets a subtle design sans any unwanted drama which was appreciated by us. The conventional front fascia, simple side fenders and an elegant rear design made it a comparatively good looking scooter when compared to its rivals back then. In addition to this, what impressed us the most was its comfortable seat height. The handlebar is not very far from the rider and riding this scooter for long hours is not difficult.

The engine of this scooter is an absolute delight inside the city. The response to the throttle inputs is impressive, the refinement levels are commendable at slow speeds and the fuel economy has been decent as well. However, push this scooter hard and you will realise that the overall vibrations levels post 50-60 kmph are extremely high and the engine too starts to scream as it reaches it top-end. The fuel economy that we get from this hovers around 35-40 kmpl. So far, there have been no major issues with the powertrain but the brakes could have been better.

best scooter under Rs 1 lakh

The high-speed stability is not very great and this scooter is best when used in a relaxed manner. The suspension setup does not give a comfortable ride and the ride quality over bad surfaces is extremely bad. With this being said, this scooter has always been one of the easiest to ride and easiest to handle scooters that I have ever used.
