2021 Honda Dio BS6 Pros and Cons - Should You Buy It?

Honda Dio is a very popular gearless scooter in the Indian market. The Dio was first launched in India in the year 2002 and back then it was the first and the only moto-scooter in the country. Over the years, the company has updated the Dio. Its latest iteration was launched in India in February 2020 and just like all other versions, it too became an instant hit. So, today in this article, we have shared with you the Pros and Cons of the new 2021 Honda Dio BS6.

2021 Honda Dio BS6 - Pros and Cons

PROS

Dazzling Looks with Striking Colour Shades - Honda Dio is very popular among the youths and the main reason for its popularity is the way it looks. With the BS6 update, the Dio has become more mature and now looks even better than before. The Honda Dio BS6 is available in seven different colour shades. They are Sports Red, Candy Jazzy Blue, Vibrant Orange, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Dazzle Yellow Metallic, Matte Sangria Red Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic. The Honda Dio BS6 now gets a new Repsol Edition too.

2021 Honda Dio BS6 Pros and Cons

Engine Performance and Refinement - The new Honda Dio is powered by a BS6 compliant 109.51cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It also gets a programmed fuel injection system and Honda's new ACG starter technology. This motor churns out 7.76 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 9 Nm of torque at 4750 RPM and the engine comes mated to a CVT. Being a Japanese engine, the motor of the Honda Dio is supremely refined.

Decent Hardware - The new Honda Dio gets telescopic forks at the front and a 3-step spring-loaded hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. The moto scooter gets a 12-inch tyre at the front and a 10-inch unit at the rear.

New Features with BS6 Update - The new Honda Dio BS6 has got a lot of features. For instance, it now gets an all-digital instrument cluster with a ton of information, an LED headlamp with DRL, a side stand engine cut off switch, a 3-step Eco indicator, etc.

CONS

No Disc Brake - The Honda Dio gets drum brakes at either end with CBS as an additional safety aid. It doesn't get a disc unit at the front, not even as an option.

2021 Honda Dio BS6 Pros and Cons

Average Build Quality - The Honda Dio is made of fibre and plastic and the build quality of the scooter isn't that great.
