Hero MotoCorp has shared teasers of what is likely going to be a new variant of the Destini 125. The clip does not say much, but it shows snippets of the Destini 125 from various angles. There are specific things which suggest it could be limited to the base VX variant.

Hero Destini Special Edition Teaser Details

The Destini shown in the teaser clip does not differ much from the regular Destini we have been seeing on the roads. However, there are a few interesting things to note. The scooter shown in the clip seems to bear the Cosmic Blue paint scheme, which is available on the mid-spec ZX trim. It is possible Hero could be adding this paint scheme to the base VX trim.

Secondly, the teaser clip shows a digi-analogue instrument cluster, which is also available only on the base VX trim, while the mid-spec ZX and top-end ZX+ get a fully-digital negative-lit LCD cluster with bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The most important bit, however, we saved it for the last, is that a front disc brake was shown.

All these hints likely point towards the possibility of the base VX variant being upgraded, which could also be Hero's way of cashing in on the reduced prices thanks to the new GST reforms. Underneath the familiar design, Hero is unlikely going to change anything. The 124.6cc engine will continue in the same state of tune, producing 9bhp and 10.4Nm of torque.
Verdict
With the revised prices under the new GST regime, Hero is likely thinking to equip the Destini 125 with as many things as possible from the base variant itself. That said, nothing is official yet, and we shall know the real picture soon enough.
