Aprilia's most affordable premium bike in India RS 457 first service cost has been revealed. Aprilia RS 457 Service Cost and Part Cost
Launched last year, the RS 457 marked the affordable bike journey of Aprilia in India. It also became the first Aprilia bike to be manufactured in India. Sold at a mouth-watering price of Rs 4.16 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the RS 457 comes equipped with a powerful 457cc parallel-twin engine. Moreover, its styling looks like a mini version of the bigger RS 660 super sports bike. Not long ago, Aprilia commenced the deliveries of the first lot. Now, the first service cost has been revealed online for it.
As per an online report, it will cost you Rs 3,930 to service the RS 457 at the first service mark. The first service is scheduled at 1,000/1,200 km or 1/1.5 month time interval, whichever comes earlier. The first service includes engine oil which costs Rs 1,872, an oil filter that is priced at Rs 1,184, and chain clean plus lube which will cost Rs 250 (optional). Additionally, as per Aprilia's advisory, it is better to get your engine flushed at the first service. This is claimed to increase the lifespan and health of the engine and it is priced at Rs 1,200 (optional).
Speaking of the rivals like Kawasaki Ninja 500, its service cost easily plunges more than the Rs 6,000 mark. In fact, the newly debuted Yamaha R3 service cost is said to be in a similar ballpark. The second and third service intervals for the RS 457 are at 6,000/6,500 km and 12,000/12,500 km mark respectively.

Verdict
Considering the fact that it is the first Aprilia bike that is affordable yet localised, the service cost is great. Only if Aprilia could expand its service center portfolio pan India, the RS 457 would easily sell twice the numbers as it is selling right now. It is a great product and if offers a proper big bike feel at a relatively lesser price.
