Bajaj Auto launched the Chetak 3001 as an upgrade to the popular 2903 at Rs 99,900. This electric scooter is built on the same 35 Series platform and is equipped with a 3.0 kWh battery pack that offers a 127 km range. The Chetak is available in three variants now - 3001, 3501, 3502, and 3503. Let's find out what's all on offer and how big of an upgrade it is over the 2903. Bajaj Chetak 3001
Chetak 3001 replaces the 2903 variant and is built on floorboard battery architecture - which we have seen in 35 Series scooters. Powered by a 3.0 kWh battery pack, the IDC range on offer is 127 km and 0% to 80% charging happens in 3 hrs and 50 minutes. Moreover, there a 35L of boot space and there's an LCD display for all the necessary information. On top of that, all the latest tech-pack features are optional and come at an extra cost. These include:-
- Call Accept/Reject
- Music Control
- Guide Me Home Lights
- Hill Hold Assist
- Reverse Light
- Auto-Flashing Stop Lamp
To add more, all Chetak electric scooters are built of solid metal body, and they are IP67 rated water ressistance. Also, India's best-selling e-scooter, it topped FY2025 Q4 (Jan-Mar) as the #1 electric scooter. Lastly, the press release doesn't mention about the colour options - but we think, it will be offered in the same 5 vibrant options as 2903. This variant is now available at dealerships and will soon be on Amazon.

Verdict
The best just got better. Chetak has upgraded the 2903 to 3001, the latest variant, and it's like improving an already stupendous recipe. It uses the same platform of 35 Series scooters and offers more range and boot space at an affordable price of under Rs 1 lakh. Looking at everything on offer, this will have a positive impact on sales and push more new customers towards it.
