Oben Electric is all set to launch a new version of its Rorr electric motorcycle, the Oben Rorr EZ, on November 7th. The upcoming Rorr EZ is expected to be a more affordable version of the Rorr electric motorcycle. Currently, the brand sells the Oben Rorr electric motorcycle at a price tag of 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Rorr EZ is expected to be priced less. Oben Rorr EZ
Oben Electric has teased the upcoming motorcycle with its silhouettes but all other details are still under wraps. The brand claims that the upcoming Rorr EZ will address the pain points faced by bikers daily. The motorcycle will offer a blend of comfort, convenience, performance, and design. Moreover, Oben has revealed that it will be powered by its patented LFP battery technology. This battery chemistry is claimed to offer good heat resistance, reliability, and longevity.
Based on the teaser images, the Rorr EZ (pronounced as Easy) will get a similar design as the Rorr. It will get a muscular tank area with sharp tank shrouds, a round LED headlamp, a split seat setup among other design highlights.
Currently, Oben Electric only offers a single electric motorcycle, the Oben Rorr to the market. The Rorr comes with a 4.4 kWh battery pack and an 8kW IPMSM motor. The Oben Rorr offers a top speed of 100 kmph, 187 km of claimed range, 0-40 kmph acceleration time of 3 seconds, 0-80 percent charging time of 2 hours, and 330 Nm of torque at the wheel. On the features front, the Oben Rorr comes with a coloured digital instrument cluster, 3 riding modes, a combined braking system, and connected features among other features. The upcoming Rorr EZ is expected to get toned-down features.
Verdict
Oben Electric seems to be working on enhancing its product lineup in the Indian market. The upcoming Rorr EZ is expected to improve the affordablity of the Rorr lineup. Recently, Oben's primary rival Revolt has launched a more affordable commuter motorcycle, and Oben Electric seems to be following the same step in order to increase its presence in the commuter segment.
