Ola Roadster X+

This is Ola Electric's flagship product, powered by a 9.1 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of up to 501 km. It has a top speed of 125 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.7 seconds. The motorcycle is available in a total of five colour options. According to Ola Electric, this move comes in response to strong demand for electric bikes during its #EndICEAge campaign. Additionally, with production of the 4680 Bharat Cell scaling up, the company aims to pass on the resulting cost benefits to customers.
It is worth noting that the company has adopted a limited purchase window model, wherein vehicles will be offered in specific time-bound slots and in restricted quantities. The first purchase window is scheduled for Friday, April 3, between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, with subsequent windows to be announced periodically based on production availability.
Commenting on the announcement, an Ola Electric spokesperson said, "As production of our 4680 Bharat Cell scales, we are able to unlock significant cost efficiencies and pass them on directly to customers. The response to the Roadster has been extremely strong - the bike demand during our #EndICEAge campaign has grown more than 5X, and this new pricing makes long range electric mobility even more accessible."
Verdict
The Roadster X+ 9.1's price cut makes it significantly more attractive, especially given its performance and claimed range. However, the limited purchase window model may restrict accessibility for many buyers, making availability the key bottleneck despite the improved value. Additionally, Ola's brand perception isn't entirely clean, so even this move may face challenges in convincing customers to go ahead with the purchase of this vehicle.
