Hi, I'm Tejen. I was born and brought up in a small town of Haryana. However, from the day of my birth and until now, I've always lived around cars and motorcycles. More than passion, the automotive world is my only lifestyle. It's the connection to the vehicle that delivers me peace. However, when it comes to a choice; my instinct leads me towards motorcycles.

1 - TVS Ntorq XT

TVS Ntorq XT

Recalling one of the most interesting launches; the TVS Ntorq XT variant was launched. The new variant costs Rs 13,612 more than the Race XP variant. However, the extra money gets you some segment-first features. These include the industry-first hybrid split TFT display. Additionally, TVS has equipped it with Smart Xonnect voice assistance tech with Bluetooth connectivity as well as other connected features. Meanwhile, it also gets a dedicated screen for Race Mode. In this mode, the rider can see multiple stats like the lap timer, top speed indicator, & even a 0-60 kmph timer. Technically, it remains unchanged as it continues using the 125cc engine. The XT variant costs Rs 99,961 ex-showroom pan India.

2 - Honda Activa Premium Edition

Honda Activa 6G Premium Edition

Another interesting addition to the scooter market was the Honda Activa Premium Edition. While it is just a special edition, the new colour themes gave it a fresh flair of change. Honda Activa remains an unbeatable scooter in terms of sales even in 2022. However, the company has plans to introduce another generation of it soon in India. Meanwhile, the current scooter with its Premium Edition gets new 3 colour schemes - matte red, matte green, & matte pearl. Additionally, the rims have been painted in a light bronze shade to contrast with the new colour shades. Overall, the rest of the scooter remains unchanged. The premium edition of Activa costs Rs 76,587 ex-showroom pan India.

3 - Keeway Vieste

Keeway Vieste 300

The launch of Keeway Vieste can be concluded as one of the most exciting for 2022. How? Well, it became the first maxi-scooter to launch in India this year. The aggressive design with bulky dimensions can fool one because it is one fast scooter. Powered by 287.2cc, single-cylinder engine; the Vieste can shame even some of the renowned performance bikes. However, this performance & features come at a hefty price tag of Rs 3.20 lakh. In terms of features, it gets 13-inch alloy wheels with disc brakes & dual-channel ABS. We did a comprehensive review of this scooter. If you've not watched it until now; have a look below.

4 - Suzuki Burgman EX

A not-so-exciting but definitely interesting launch was of the Suzuki Burgman EX. A new variant that costs Rs 1,12,300 ex-showroom (Delhi). This new variant offers little for the added cost of Rs 22,400 over the standard version. How? Well, Suzuki has only added a silent starter motor, a fat rear tyre, & a new auto start/stop function. The overall changes on it have been done to make the scooter more fuel efficient and smooth. It is available in various colour options like Metallic Royal Bronze, Metallic Matte Black, and Metallic Matte Platinum Silver.

5 - Keeway Sixties 300i

Keeway

Last but not least on this list is the Keeway Sixties 300i. It is basically a retro-modern sibling of the Vieste. How? Its design is completely neo-retro like the old geared scooters. However, the modern touch of LED lights, TFT display, and Bluetooth connection make it an interesting choice, Furthermore, it also uses the same 278.2cc single-cylinder engine. Hence, its performance of it is also competitive with middle-weight performance bikes. Additionally, the beautiful combination of various colour contrasts makes it pure eye candy. The only deal breaker remains the exorbitant price tag of Rs 2.99 lakh.

Verdict

As the year 2022 ends, we are hopeful that the upcoming year has a lot to offer. All of the excitement starts with the upcoming Indian Auto Expo itself.
